The water, the Light and the Shephard

Jesus is the greatest Shephard

He is three in one

Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. John 7: 38-39

When we accept Jesus as our Savior He has promised to give us the gift of the Holy Spirit. He will guide us in our walk with Jesus. He is our divine Guidance Councilor. He will heal and comfort us. He will convict us when we do wrong and heal our deepest wounds. He will guide us throughout the day.

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

There is so much darkness in the world today of greed and hatred. When we accept Jesus as our Savior we will be guided into the light of love, grace and mercy. Instead of walking through life with no real meaning in life we will have a divine one in our relationship with Jesus.

The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. John 10:2-4

It is only through Jesus that the gates will be open. It can not be by your works or any other religion or praying to idols (Doesn’t that happen in the catholic church? Who is the pope to make such an outrageous claim?). When we know Jesus’ voice we will not follow false cult leaders or religions. Just as a shepherd knows each one of His sheep so too does Jesus know each one of us. Just as the sheep knows the shepherds voice so too will we know His voice when we develop a personal relationship with Him. He longs to have a personal relationship with each one of us. It is the best relationship you will ever have. Jesus goes in front of us and will lead us home.

Prayer: Thank you Immanuel (God amongst us) for such a cherished gift of the living water, the light and the greatest Shepherd. I give thanks in Your beautiful name Jesus. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
