Then you commit a great insult.
Serving others is serving God
How about you?
But in your plenty do not forget the Lord your God. Deut.8:11 New International Version
Be careful with full bellies, for then you commit a great insult.
How about you?
Do you make deals with God? God if you will ________ I will ___. Then when God gives you what you asked for you brazenly neglect to uphold your end of the deal.
“God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing” (Ecclesiastes 12:14). New International Version
How would you feel if someone promised to do something for you if you did something for them first? After you upheld your end of the deal they refuse to uphold their end of the deal. Believe me where I live people do that all the time. Now their promises ain’t worth a piece of used toilet paper.
It is funny. I let them make all these big grand promises just to get me to do what they want me to do, all the whole while they have NO intention of doing what they promise to do. When they are finished they are informed that I will do as they ask AFTER they FIRST fulfill their promises. Oh they try to talk their way out of it, but I jab it at them like a spear:”Why would you make such promises if you do not intend to keep them? Doesn’t that make you a liar? In effect doesn’t that make you a filthy thief? “Needless to say, now they avoid me like the plague.
It is a trap to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider one’s vows. Proverbs 20:25 New International Version
A man of words and not of deeds is like a garden full of weeds. unknown
How do you think God feels when you make a bargain with Him? When He upholds His end of the deal, you contemptuously refuse to honour your word? Doesn’t that make you a liar? Doesn’t that make you a thief? The next time you ask God for help, why should He waste His time on an unrepentant liar and thief who plays Him for a fool?
When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow. It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it. Ecclesiastes 5:4-5 New International Version
