There is Some Great Music Out There

And it's just a click away:

Some days are good.

Some days - not so good.

But on any given day a lift to your spirit is just a click away. For all the good, the bad, and the ugly that the Internet has brought into our lives, there are some things available to us now that are not more than a keystroke away. Inspirational, just what we need at any moment, music is virtually at our fingertips.

As Emerson, Lake and Palmer so eloquently said, "Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends." Ladies and Gentlemen, - with apologies to ELP -Toby Mac:

Life is hard and then you die:

Well, yes, that is one way to look at life. Like the wise man said, some days you are the hammer and some days you are the nail. If our friend Murphy can be believed, if anything can go wrong, it will go wrong. Many people believe Murphy had to be an optimist. "What do you mean 'IF' anything can go wrong!"

We've all been there. Those days when it just wasn't worth it to get out of bed. They come to all of us (some more than others). When they come to me, I don't know of a better defensive strategy for overcoming them than to turn on the nearest radio, CD player, or computer to arm myself against of all that beseiges me in the ongoing battle of daily life.

What's Next?

I don't know about my fellow hubbers out there, but I've come to the point in life that I'd really just as soon not see too far down that road, around that next bend, or too far over the distant horizon. Life is too full of surprises for me to want to know exactly what is coming next.

But for right now. For this moment. I'll take all the encouragement music affords us. I can't think of another thing in life that offers me the opportunity to just feel better by doing nothing more than lending an ear to what it has to offer. And there are certain songs that speak to us no matter what our nationality, religion, ethnicity, or any other defining feature of life. They reach across any divide and touch us where we live and breathe and have our being.

Does music have to be religious to be uplifting? No.

Whether or not you are a person of faith, especially in the traditional sense, religious music can boost your spirits, change your mood, and help you through the tough patches. But does music have to be something you might hear in church to be inspirational? I don't believe it does. There are many feel good tunes on the airways. You know them when you hear them by the way they set your toe to tapping and put a smile on your face. And many of them are the hits of today.
