There's A Whole Lot Of Shaking Going On !!

Come Out from Among Them, And Be Ye Separate

Hebrews 12: 23-29,

To the general assembly and church of the first born, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. See that you refuse not him that speaketh. For they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall we not escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.

My sister told me some time ago, " When it seems that all hell is breaking loose, and we don't understand or have any control, God is up to something."

God is up to something in this day. I look back through the history of mankind, and of man's relationship with God, or lack thereof, and I am baffled. The question is, " How can we not honor and reverence a God who loves us so, and has given himself on our behalf?"

How can we not hear when God speaks to us, in the seasons, in the atmosphere, in our ecology, and in our economy? How can we continue to be rebellious and hard-hearted towards God, and yet, call on His Holy name when we are in need of a Blessing?

Remember, God has called us out to be a people Holy unto him, and we have come far short of the mark, and short of His glory.

Paul admonished the Corinthian believers, 2nd Corinthians 6: 14-18, " Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

How can we walk with the swagga of this world's system, and say that we are holy? How can we fellowship and commune with unrighteousness, to the extent that we not only condone their behavior, but become willing participants in their sins?

Saints of God used to be called " Sanctified."  To sanctify means to set apart for sacred use or to consecrate. To be sanctified means that we are made or declared or believed to be holy. The Apostle Peter takes it a step further saying, " But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light."

God has called us out of a dark and dying world, he has called by His grace and His tender-loving mercies, to be separate unto Him. God has called us out from sin, degradation, and damnation. When will we sit up and take notice of the world having more of an impact on the church, than the church is having on the world? We have brought more of the world into the church, than what we have carried out of the church into the world.

It is funny to me to hear Scientists, Engineers, and Economists explaining our current condition to the masses. It is hilarious to hear them blame things like Global Warming, The Ozone, and such to assure people that something is going on, and then offer their worldly solutions, to a spiritual situation. God is shaking both the heavens and the earth.

Serve God Acceptably With Reverence And Fear

There is a prayer that we quote often called the Serenity Prayer:

" God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

At the risk of beating a dead horse, allow me to say again, that all down through the history of mankind God has made a way for us to escape. It was God, who killed the first animal, and took the skin to cover the nakedness of the first man, after Adam's fall, and his eyes were opened, and he realized that he was naked, and he and Eve hid themselves amongst the trees in the garden. Read the hub, " You can come back now."

Our generation is much likened to Adam and Eve. We know that we are in sin, craving the very things that God told us to shun, and stay away from.  We know that we've fallen short of the glory of God, and we are taking  " Fig Leaves" to cover our nakedness, while hiding behind religion, traditions, and doctrine. And even more, taking the Grace of our God for granted.

It was the Apostle Paul, who told his young son Timothy, in 1st Timothy 6: 3-8,

" If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strife of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that "gain is godliness": from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. " And having food and raiment let us be therewith content."

Christians should have never become a part of the rat race for materialism. Knowing that God called us to be separated from the world. Even Jesus promised, " Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and ALL other THINGS would be added unto you."

God is shaking the things that can be moved in order to get our attention, and to give us an opportunity to repent, refocus, and return to Him.

Today is a good day to remember that our God is Sovereign and Almighty. When we think of His Titles and His Character, knowing that each title represents or highlights many of the different aspects of who He is: El Elohim ( Mighty One) El Shaddai ( Almighty or Multi-Breasted One) Adonai ( Master) El Elyon ( Most High God) Avinu ( Our Father).

Let us come out from among them, and be separate. Let us get back to truly reverencing God for who He is, and not for what He can give us. Let us fear the Lord God, remembering that our kingdom cannot be moved, because our buildings were not made by man's hand's.

Thank you for the encouraging and faith strengthening message godpreacher.

Surely we must "come out from among them, and be separate."

It is mandatory for Christians to guard against being shaped into the world's mold and sucked in to Satan's system.

May we pray for one another even as Christ prayed for us.

Illuminating hub. Thank you.

Forever His,

Excellent hub godpreacher. Being unequally yoked goes beyond just marriage. It is one thing to spend time amongst the publicans and sinners like Yahshua did, but it is another thing to be among them and not preach, to just accept their lifestyles and sins and sometimes even participate. He said He came to call sinners to repentance. He told those He healed to go and sin no more. He was among them to change them - not simply be one of them. Accepting the will of the Lord in one's life sometimes means 'waiting' and 'watching'. There are somethings the Lord is going to do that we can't change or prevent but if we are in His will, and the Lamb's blood is on our door, we are safe and content. Peace.

RevLady,

The bible says that when He appears, we should look like Him. We began our journey being made in His Image and Likeness. You remember people used to say, If you feed a child long enough, he'll start to look like you. Now it is hard to tell a Saint from a Sinner, both looks much the same, since both are being fed from the same table. We must come out from among them. God Bless and Thanks for your comment

AM,

Your comments are always welcome and wise.

I'm blowing my trumpet.

There is old old song that we sing, that says, " A Charge To Keep I Have, A God To Glorify." I'm keeping my charge.

God Bless

I enjoyed reading this hub, brother. I know God makes provisions for the unbelieving spouse, for sometimes when two unbelievers are married and one comes to salvation, the unbelieving is then sanctified by the believer's faith. However, I've seen unequally yoked marriages fall apart more often than not because the believer grows stronger in the Word; the unbeliever grows stronger in rebellion. It is so important we not yoke ourselves with unbelievers in the marriage covenant from the beginning!!

Likewise, the Word says friendship with the world is hostility toward God! Truly, we are to be a light in the darkness, for He has called us to this. If Christ be in us, He will speak through us and love through us as He did when He spent time with people of the 'world'. More often than not, I see people in the world hungering and thirsting for truth out there ~ I've seen lives changed!! It is such an encouragement!! You are a blessing, godpreacher! Keep on 'a preachin'!!

Thanks Sis,

As you said, it is important that we not be yoked with unbeliever's, because more often than not, the unbeliever grows stronger in resentment and rebellion.

godpreacher, Amen & AMEN! Excellent "Message" PREACH!!! You have truly imparted a spiritual feast here! I will continue to digest this...! It is wonderful how through the WORD we can be on one accord! My heart is shouting PRAISE GOD!

We as God's children are supposed to not be conformed to his world but to be "transformed by the renewing of our minds" A you stated: "God has called us out of a dark and dying world, he has called by His grace and His tender-loving mercies, to be separate unto Him. God has called us out from sin, degradation, and damnation. When will we sit up and take notice of the world having more of an impact on the church, than the church is having on the world? We have brought more of the world into the church, than what we have carried out of the church into the world."

We are "in the world but not of it." We must be forever mindful of who we are in Jesus Christ! We are to point the world to Him! Although in the world we live unto HIM! I agree as Rev Lady says "Pray ye for one another" Blessing to you my brother. In His Love & Blessings!

Sis. DeBorrah,

We must be the remnant that has not bowed our knees to baal, the remnant that God has saved for himself.(will&purpose)

Many Christians are as greedy for gain as the unsaved, and God is shaking this system to bring us back. Thanks for coming by.

God Bless

Amen!

Being unequally yoked is a directive for every area of our life and as the Lords word says that we should be in the world but not of it. As ever these commands need the leading of the Holy Spirit as we follow the example of Jesus. As He went amongst those who the religious leaders of age had long since cast of as dead hopes.

It is vital that we find the right balance in the way in which we outwork being in an environment and not of it and the Holy Spirit knows exactly how to accomplish this through us. it is important for us to remember that the Lord took us all out of the world and so to the shepherds of God flock, I say teach you entrusted congregations to get the balance right. Let us not think it is about just doing work around our churches and our Christian brethren, but it is about being used in the environment to point to a better way. Just like John the baptist declaring the way, but for many of us we will not always have to use words.

A friend recently said 'Preach the gospel and if necessary use words'. Let our light and conduct so shine that it draws all mankind unto the Lord.

An absolutely Spirit led word in season. I my self had been led to the same portion of scripture in Hebrews 12 and can witness to this message completely.

If your ever in the UK give me a shout, it would be good to fellowship with you.

Sorry for the long comment

God Bless you,

Brother Don

Bro. Don,

I look forward to your hub on this subject. Being unequally yoked does speak to every area of our lives, and many people miss it, thinking it's only about marriage. Maybe someday I'll be priviledged to come to the UK, thanks for the invite. Your Quote will be framed and put on the wall in my study, so that always before I take the podium, I'll be reminded.

God Bless

Book of life,

I whole-heartedly agree, at least to the part about the church needing to hear. We have somehow forgotten that God is in control.

Thanks for stopping by.

God Bless
