Though of the day:

Jan. 1

1. Thought of the day: You don't fall in Love. Doesn't exist. Love is a slow climb up the mountain of time. You have to CARE where your next step falls, you have to TRUST the rope keeping you from falling, and PERSEVERE through the pains and aching of holding on for dear life as the winds of change, trials, and separation try to knock you down.

The moment you hear someone is "Falling in Love" is the moment you need to envision them falling into a dark abyss of ignorance and lack of maturity. The love we experience toward others should mirror God's love for us, and the love we are called to have for him. CARING where are next step falls, and working to let it fall in Jesus's foot steps. TRUSTING in what God's Word says and clinging to Jesus. PERSEVERING with our walk with God even though hard times come and temptation rises.

My prayer for you today is that you do these three things. That you care for others as you would yourself, that you trust in God and cling to him with every breathe, and that you realize hard times will come, but you choose to persevere and push on toward the goal of living your life as not just a fan of Jesus, but a follower of Him.

1 John 4:9-12
By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has beheld God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.

John 13:34-35
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

Proverbs 17:17
A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.

@revlady - I'm so glad God could use me to make your evening! You don't always get to see or hear the outcome of what God does though you, but it is SO rewarding and humbling when you do! Thank you!

@fred allen - I love the whole book of Job, but when Elihu rebukes job and his friends starting in ch. 32 I love it when he says, "I said, "Let days speak, and many years teach wisdom." But it is the spirit in man, the breath of the almighty, that makes him understand." Just saying, God can chose to reveal himself to whoever he wills and work through whoever no matter how young. Sometimes I feel like Elihu in that regard, but I'm finding I have SOOO much to learn and much maturing to do. Thank you for the compliment, but I give it to God.
