Thought of the day (4)

Jan. 4

4. Thought of the day: The Bible says that God knows us better than we know ourselves. He should, after all, because He created each one of us. Why then is it so hard to let God, who knows what we need and desire better than we ourselves do, be in control of our lives? Because we allow ourselves to fall into the lie that we know better than our creator. TRUST Him and rest in Him today and in days to come.

This is, in fact, is where all sin sprouts from. Lies. The devil telling us the way we are living, what we are doing, how we are talking, who we respect, is something that we know how to do better than the one who created us. Jesus, when asked by pilate why He came to earth, says, "I've come here to testify to the truth." Cling to that knowledge. That God, our creator, knows best and, therefore, we should follow the plan or story that he has written for us.

My prayer for you today is that you can surrender and even die to yourself and to your earthly plans, trusting that God knows you and your needs better than you do. I pray that you can rest in the overwhelming peace and comfort of knowing that your in the hands of a God who cares enough to not only know so much about you, but to know what is best for you and to allow it to happen. Finally, I pray that, no matter where God's plan takes you, that you know he has a plan that is going to prosper you and not harm you.

Psalm 22:4-5

In you our fathers trusted;
they trusted, and you delivered them.
To you they cried and were rescued;
in you they trusted and were not put to shame.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.

Isaiah 26:3-4

You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.
