Thought of the day (9)
9. Thought of the Day: Everyone finds themselves falling away from God and leaning more on themselves with the POSSIBILITY of something in our future not going totally right. We worry about tomorrow and dont fully trust God. How amazing is it then that Jesus Christ lived His life each day fully trusting God and living for Him with not just the possibility of pain, but the PROMISE of the most painful death imaginable.
In fact, we actually have a promise from God in Jeremiah 29:11.. It says that, "God knows his plans for us. Plans to prosper us, not to harm us. Plans to give us a future and a hope." How amazing is it then that we can rest in the comforting arms of Jesus who didn't have a promise such as this, but actually opposite of this, and He will give us the strength He had that allowed him to still trust and follow God. We have this same power working in and through us. Shouldn't we, therefore, be more than willing to lean fully on God with such a promise of hope?
My prayer for you today is that you may, first and foremost, trust God with your whole life. That you may lift up all your worries, hardships, blessings, and trials to Him, and that you may trust Him to provide and be there for you. I pray that you can rest in the hope that God gives us in Jeremiah 29:11, and trust that the story God has written for your life is one that is full of hope and a future. Finally, I pray that you may know you have the power that gave Jesus the strength to fully trust God with a promise of pain and suffering ahead of him, but also, that you may know that it is the same power that raised Jesus from the grave. So as you attack your day today, I pray you look forward to the challenges ahead that you have the strength to endure through Jesus Christ.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.
1 Corinthians 1:25
For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.
