Todd Bentley's Tattoos

How many tattoos should a pastor cut into his body with a needle?

The rose with a skull in the center has a caption, "TO DIE IS GAIN." This is a pagan symbol, more popularly interpreted to mean, "From life, death".

Are Tattoos Okay for Christians?

Leviticus 18:21 says "And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD."

Though this is an Old Testament scripture, there can be little doubt that our Father in Heaven remains positively against tossing babies into a fire as a sacrifice to Molech. And, abusing the name of God is one of the 10 commandments, which remain in effect. Even for those who outright reject the Old Testament (which the NAR does, especially Bill Johnson).

Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. (Leviticus 19:28)

Note that Lev 19:28 lists two commands. First, do not make cuttings in the flesh for the dead. Second, do not make any marks at all.

So, should a Christian put marks on his/her flesh using a needle and ink?

Reverse and Inversion Magic

Satanists practice a kind of reverse magic. Reversing and inverting Christian symbols, or perverting them as a way to contaminate them is a very common work among those led by dark forces.

One Satanic chant is to speak the "Our Father" prayer in reverse. An inverted cross is a favorite wall decoration. Do you know that the "peace" symbol originated from the Satanists? It is an inverted, broken cross. The rainbow, a symbol of God's promise to never again destroy the earth has been hijacked as a symbol for homosexuality, something God detests. The Satanic symbol for the devil was used in sign language to mean "love" (Helen Keller was a Satanist). "Back masking" is a technique used by rock stars and others under the influence of demonic powers. Ex-High-Satanist John Todd shared how he had to learn back masking to become a witch.

All of these things are techniques of dark magic.

Think about this when you look at Todd Bentley's death mask of Jesus Christ. When everyone in the church raises their hands toward Heaven, Bentley hangs Jesus upside down.

Revelation 4:7 is above the Star of David.

And the first beast [was] like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast [was] like a flying eagle.

Does Todd like lions? Or is this an angel fascination?

The Star of David (magan David) is part of mystical Kabbalah, not part of the Torah, Judaism, or Christianity. Just like other demonic symbols, this one has crept in unaware.

What does this Japanese kanji mean?
What does this Japanese kanji mean?

What do the Kanji Mean?

I lived in Japan for a year. I have completed three Japanese language classes. I know the first and last symbols. First is "Dai". It's basic usage means "tree". A secondary usage is to mean "big" or "great". The third symbol means "king". It can be pronounced "OU".

The middle symbol I could not find, even using a "stroke dictionary". Kanji writing has very strict rules in stroke order. So, they can be drawn in only one way. Even if you do not know the kanji, you can redraw it, and count the strokes. Then, use a stroke dictionary to find it. The middle kanji appears to be a 16 stroke kanji. There are not too many 16-stroke kanji.

Emma Daioh

However, thanks to truthseekermom of YouTube who consulted two Japanese experts. The first said the middle kanji is "incorrectly rendered". The second noted that sounding out the kanji renders "Daioh". The Japanese God of the dead is "Emma Daioh".

Bentley was introduced to an "angel" named "Emma-O" by Bob Jones, the former mystic. Bob Jones and Bentley both share the same eery, coal-black eyes. Jones was the "prophet" in the Toronto movement who had young women strip naked so he could check them for "spots and blemishes", and to get in some groping as well. He was exposed for it, part of the sexual issues behind the scenes.

If you do not yet know about Todd Bentley and Emma-O, here is a compilation of several articles written by Bentley himself which discuss Emma, and identify her as female. Despite these articles, Bentley later claimed there is no angel, and at other times that Emma is male, not female. Todd Bentley & Emma the fallen angel

A Real Christian Sees Emma-O

Has anyone besides Bentley and Jones seen this "Emma-O"? Yes! One week before the Lakeland "revival" crashed down, an Oklahoma pastor named James Gillespie traveled to Lakeland to warn Bentley that God would expose him if Bentley did not repent of his own accord. Gillespie had been warned by the Holy Spirit to stay on the opposite side of the road, and to not cross over to the same side of the road as the church.

God miraculously provided everything for the trip. Even the sound equipment. When Gillespie arrived, a street preacher was set up 2 blocks from the Lakeland site. That preacher has arrived there to preach against "wolves in sheep's clothing" at the behest of the Holy Spirit. Gillespie, meanwhile, had written a paper the previous week titled "wolves in sheep's clothing". The street preacher loaned the equipment to Gillespie.

Emma-O Bound in the Name of Jesus

When Gillespie began to preach, the Lord opened his eyes and he saw "Emma-O", the female angel, coming from the building toward him. He cried out, "I bind you in Jesus' name!" He said she froze there, and could not move. He said her face was contorted in anger. But, he continued warning those who were walking toward the church to hear Bentley.

So, it appears this tattoo is an homage to his "great king guardian", Emma Daioh", or just "Emma-O" for short. She is the God of the Underworld. Hmmmm... who is that?

Bentley's Tattoo is NOT "King David" in the Chinese Union Bible

Some choose first what they want to believe. Then, when contradictory evidence presents itself, they will find anything, anything, to refute the truth. Several years ago, a mini sub was deployed to the bottom of the Red Sea. Video showing chariot wheels made the Internet and videos supporting the flight of the Hebrews out of Egypt. Famous Egyptologists identified one retrieved wheel as belonging to the time of the Exodus. Atheists who saw this information began to proclaim they were not chariot wheels at all. They claimed they were pilot's wheels from ferry boats. And, they vehemently chose that belief.

Some, who believe Bentley actually serves the Kingdom of God have their own belief about the Emma Daio tattoo. They say it is actually King David, as found in the Chinese Union Bible. Liking to have the truth, I went to a Chinese Union Bible online, and looked at two scriptures in which I could easily locate King David. I found two in which King David is last. Here are 2 Samuel 17:17 and 2 Samuel 19:16.

2 Sam 17:17

The last three symbols are "King David". Notice the second of the three kanji- it is not the same as the one inked into the shin of Todd Bentley.

Not King David Tattoo

Whatever is tattooed on Todd Bentley's shin, it is not King David as charactered in the Chinese Union Bible (as Peter Kirk incorrectly asserts.) It is not even King David at all.

Chinese or Japanese?

By asserting the tattoo is Chinese, not Japanese, some writers want you to believe the tattoo cannot possibly be Emma Daio, because that name is a Japanese name, not a Chinese name. The argument is ridiculous. Both nations use almost an identical set of characters. The Japanese originally possessed no written language. More than 1500 years ago, Chinese books and settlers began to enter Japan. The Japanese discovered the written kanji language, and adopted it. They modified the language to account for the more complex verb endings in Japanese. However, kanji are predominantly the same. During the 1500 years the Japanese have held it, they modified the language a little. However, the basics and most of the kanji themselves are the same as in Chinese.

Basically, those who assert the tattoo is "Chinese, not Japanese" yield two things about themselves. First, they don't know much about Chinese and Japanese written language. Second, they understand the implications of Bentley's tattoo being Japanese (& the Satan of Japanese history), and choose to support Bentley instead of looking at the facts. Most of his other tattoos are pagan (rose & skull), witchcraft (Jesus death mask), mysticism (Magan David), or scriptures about angels (Rev 4:7) and Satan (1 Peter). What might this one mean (King David or the goddess of the underworld)?

The thing that makes the tat Japanese, is that it is the name of the god of the Japanese Underworld. In American, we call that entity Satan.

The Kanji is Japanese, not Chinese

It is interesting that biased bloggers like Peter Kirk write blog posts proclaiming the tattoo to be Chinese directly in the title. Yet, the link Peter Kirk (who defends NAR villains like Bentley and Bill Johnson) provided as meaning "Davids" is a link to a Japanese kanji site.
Any person can create their own name in Japanese by combining whatever characters they wish. Most people do create their name using kanji characters. They have a stamp, called a hanko, which serves as a unique signature, similar to the signet ring of Europe past.

Create Your Name in Japanese Kanji -- Check out this link. Enter your name. You will be given several options for each phoneme of your name. Type in the word "Emma". You will find, under the options for "E-" the kanji found on Todd Bentley's shin. Hello?

Unicode 885 E -- Check out the page Peter Kirk used to support his claim that Todd Bentley's "King David" tattoo is Chinese- it is a Japanese page!

Kanji 885 E does not mean "Davids"

On the Japanese kanji page, the name Thomas William Rhys Davids means nothing about the natural use of the kanji- as it is created by the man himself, or else by a consultant expert.
However, Rhys Davids was an eastern expert himself. He was a Buddhist, and a staunch proponent of spreading Theravada Buddhism in Great Britain.
Curious that Bentley actually uses demonic Buddhist spirits, and not the Kingdom of God, and he somehow ended up with the same kanji.

However, the use of a kanji in a person's name is elective. These are chosen according to several options for the sound each one might possibly make. Just because T.W. Rhys Davids chose that kanji to represent his name, no meaning is reflected back onto the original kanji.

Why is it Important to NAR Promoters Todd's Tattoo be Chinese?

The reason apologists of Todd Bentley and the other Third Wave followers of Bob Jones must defend against the tattoo being Japanese, or meaning "Emma-O" or "Emma Dai-O" is simple:

Emma-O is the Japanese name for the god of the underworld.

If you do not know who Emma-O is, you are in for a shock! Todd Bentley, in his own testimony, related how he began to heal on stage. One day, Bob Jones came to visit. Bob asked Todd if Todd had yet met Emma. Todd had not, but asked, "Who is Emma?" Bob Jones then introduced Bentley to the knowledge of a female angel named Emma-O. Bob said his power came from Emma.

Defenders of the Third Wave/ New Apostolic Reformation want to distance themselves from this fact. Bob Jones and Todd Bentley are working with real, powerful, demonic forces from the East.

King David?

Which of these is most likely the meaning of Todd's right shin tattoo?

Conclusion on the Emma Daio Tattoo

1. I believe the tattoo is certainly not "King David". This kanji is very standard in both Chinese and Japanese. Neither language uses the three kanji combo found on Bentley's right shin.

2. The kanji does appear to be incorrectly rendered. The middle, upper base kanji seems to be missing the downward stroke which would be part of the first horizontal stroke (or else it is too faint in the images available.) Otherwise, it is the Japanese kanji meaning "defense".

3. The mamoru kanji is also pronounced "E-" and is used to sound out the English name "Emma".

4. Emma Daioh is the Lord of the Underworld: The Japanese definition for "Emma" in Kenkyusha's New Japanese-English Dictionary (Harvard University Press, 1942) is "Yama; Pluto; the King (Ruler, Judge) of Hell; the Lord (Prince) of Hades; a devil.

5. Todd Bentley has preached about seeing and meeting Emma-O. He said Bob Jones introduced them. When he later said "there is no angel leading this revival, there is no angel," he lied.

6. Kanji is incorrect or too old for modern dictionaries. The kanji given in the Kenkyusha dictionary do not match Bentley's shin tat. However, starting in 1900, a reform movement began. Many older kanji were removed from standard usage. This made memorizing and reading kanji more manageable. The mamoru kanji may be one of these out-of-use kanji. It is possible this kanji was used for Emma-O before reform removed it from mainstream use.

My final conclusion:

1. Most likely not King David.

2. Indicators point to Emma.

3. This kanji is not at all common.

A cross made of rotten wood. Some Greek letters above a triangle or chevron... What else hides in these images? What is the gold conical image? A tower? A chalice?

Two days after posting this image of Todd Bentley's tattooed left forearm, I read Revelation chapter 17. Something in there really stood out in verses 4 to 6:

The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. The name written on her forehead was a mystery:

babylon the great

the mother of prostitutes

and of the abominations of the earth.

I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of God’s holy people, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus.

So, is this the cup which is full of the abominations and adulteries of Mystery Babylon? And, on Todd's arm, it is being poured out! Remember, one of the signs of a false prophet is "all iniquity", and sexual perversion, adultery, and drunkenness are things associated with leaders in the NAR.

The Lion of 1 Peter is Satan

The word "lion" occurs 104 times in the King James Bible. The book of 1 Peter holds just one. This scripture is 1 Peter 5:8. It is a scripture about Satan:

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Notice the symbolism: a much larger lion (the devil) sits between the lamb (a small, immature sheep, a new or lukewarm believer) and the cross on Calvary. The lion (read, devil) in this tattoo is blocking the fledgling Christian from the Cross.

You may have also seen this symbol in rock music or on papers at Hogwart's Academy in Harry Potter.

Astrology and Satanic Symbols Hidden in Bentley Tattoo

Hidden Symbols in Todd Bentley's Tattoos

Notice the hidden astrological symbol for "leo" in the nose and eyes of the lion. Note also another piece of art magic: the ears of the lamb are curiously drawn. Instead of being situated at the outer sides of the lamb's head, as is true of real lamb's ears, these ears join together at the top center. This forms an "infinity" symbol- another sign used by Satanists.

On top of the infinity symbol is an odd tuft of the lion's hair. Or is it? Notice it contains two horizontal lines, with the upper one being shorter than the lower. All this lacks is a vertical bar from the center of the infinity symbol through the two horizontal bars. Add the vertical line, and this is the "Satanic Cross".

Also, forgive me if this is crude... But, is the lion mounting the lamb? Look at the lion's rear leg. Is his leg extended back? What is the large, pink, rounded shape there?

This is how the haunch of a seated lion really looks, not like Todd Bentley's tattoo.

Todd Bentley's Neck Tattoo

The symbol of a rose with a skull in the middle is pagan. It symbolizes "death comes from life." I found versions of this tattoo on three sites of three different tattooists. Each of them identified the tat as occult or pagan.

In Christianity, we were dead in our sin, until we received Jesus as our Savior. From death, we received life.

This neck tattoo of Bentley is exactly the opposite: "death comes from life".

Thanks to Double Portion Inheritance, who identified this tattoo as occultic.

I have not seen this tattoo elsewhere. I captured it on a video in which Bentley is scooping the air and pulling down as he bellows "angels, angels, angels!" ad nauseum.

I'd be more concerned about his theology than the tattoos. However, that doesn't work to his advantage either. And then there's the way he dumped his wife to marry someone else....

Abitibibob,

Yes, their theology comprises doctrines of devils. Rick Joyner preaches "Joel's Army". He says this army will rise up and defeat the 'false Christians', who are defined as those who reject the NAR. Bill Johnson says the OT is of no effect- because it conflicts with his word and action, imo. Todd Bentley and Bob Jones get their power from an "angel" named Emma-O, not from the Holy Spirit. Jesus said the miracles in his ministry on earth were performed by the Holy Spirit.

I just wanted to make an article dedicated to his tattoos.

I think I'm more concerned about how the devil works to make people hurt other people. Jesus came to destroy the law of the OT. In other words, its not what you do, its why. Not familiar with the ministries above, but witchcraft and other forms of symbols come in many forms...tattoos the least of them. Just something to think about.

Here is what Jesus said, ""Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." (Mat 5:17, KJV)

Paul said, "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." (Romans 6:14)

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law (1 Cor 15:56)

So, we can no longer sin because the power of the law is broken.

But, does it mean we should sin?

Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15) Jesus himself reiterated all the original 10 commandments.

I have heard it said that Jesus broke the "Mosaic law", laws like circumcision on the 8th day and animal sacrifice. However, reading the NT clearly reveals: If we walk in the Holy Spirit, we will not sin. If we love Jesus, we will not sin. With man it was not possible. But, with God, it is.

To the Anon post with references to Wikipedia: That site can be edited by ANYONE. That includes deceivers. My resources are actual kanji dictionaries and experts in the language.

This article is an expose on the sinister spirits behind Bentley. It is correct.

Read the Bible instead of Wikipedia. You will find that false prophets are often able to perform the same signs as real prophets (at least it appears that way, as in "lying signs and wonders").

There are two major differences I have observed: 1. False prophets are surrounded by "all iniquity". 2. When a true prophet and a false prophet clash, the true prophet wins- even if it takes an exchange of miracles, many months, or even years.

So are you claiming that the translators of the Chinese Union Bible made an error when they used these characters to translate the Hebrew for "King David"?

No I am not claiming the translators of the Chinese Union Bible made an error. I am claiming that you, Peter Kirk, made an error when you failed to check this factoid for yourself. When people first decide what they want to believe, rather than checking for truth, errors result.

Wow this is quite eye opening. Once I saw Bentley and all his tattoos in person at the gym. I had this thought pop into my head after reading this hub--I wonder if Bentley is really a satanist posing/fronting as a Christian preacher, to lure people from the truth and salvation and the Cross?

I have wondered the same thing. Rick Joyner teaches, and has actually published in a book that he and his followers (along with the other NAR congregations) will fill the ranks of the army Joel prophesied. They call themselves "Joel's army". More recently, I have heard reports that the healing rooms common to NAR procedure have been guarded by armed guards. They literally have introduced guns into prayer rooms. And, Joyner has begun teaching it is okay to shoot dead a person who is totally possessed.

They are inching their way toward killing off the Christians who reject them. Read this well-documented page:

Interesting hub. I've read it in conjunction with the link you posted about Joel's Army, so forgive me if my points address both.

Todd Bentley is not going about denying that Jesus has come in the flesh or that he is lord which are the two qualifications that John gave in his epistles for an Antichrist. So either he's a very clever showman presenting something that he is not or he's simply an uneducated ignorant that's self deluded. I'm inclined to think the latter.

Now just because people carry superstitious beliefs it does not make them true. According to the bible (bar perhaps Revelation) there is no lord of the underworld 'Emma -O' or otherwise. This whole satan arch fiend leading hordes of demons from a sub terrainean bunker HQ theology is entirely a Church invention from the 2nd - 4th centuries, which has been elaborated over the last 1800 years. These ideas are completely alien to Judaism and the OT. Regarding Revelation itself, I personally cannot take seriously a book that was written in the 1st century, argued over for 300 years regarding its validity, before being voted in by the Catholics in the 4th century, and which contains blatant Babylonian astrology.

Now if these people take themselves too seriously over the Joel's army nonsense then that is indeed dangerous. History tells us there is nothing worse for humanity than religion being involved in politics and government. It's why Islamic states oppress personal freedoms and why the Church butchered their opponents and committed mass genocide across Europe for 700 years.

In all honesty I cannot take the NAR, God TV, new wave/new age, whatever you want to call it too seriously. They are all a bunch of showman charlatans with egos almost as big as their bank accounts. I just pity those sucked into their nonsense. They always fall in the end.

Disappearinghead-

1. Here is 2 John 1:7

"For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist."

Look at what it exactly says: many people who are deceivers went into the world. These particular deceivers deny Jesus and are antichrist in nature.

This does NOT mean that every kind of antichrist denies Jesus. There are also antichrist spirits who acknowledge Jesus came in the flesh. How many demons did Jesus rebuke because they declared Jesus is the Messiah?

This is a false teaching. All you need to pierce the veil of this one is a little logic.

2. The story that Satan and the demons are not real- THAT is an invention of devils, created to lead you to Hell. These ideas absolutely are found in the OT and in Judaism.

They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation. (Numbers 16:33)

3. Joel's army, and army of (false, duped) Christians, is something taught primarily by Rick Joyner. Joyner is a Knight of Malta. They are sworn in allegiance to serve ROME. They are subversives. Their oath swears them to infiltrate governments and churches and to destroy them until they submit to the power of ROME.

4. Last, I also hope those who believe things which are so blatantly contrary to the Bible will sit down and actually READ THE BIBLE. Many of things the NAR does are extra-Biblical, and contrary to the nature of God. The beliefs and reasons YOU, disappearinghead, provided in your response also reveal that you do not read and study the scriptures. If you did, you would not be carried away by every new and strange doctrine.

I do hope you will find your Bible, dust it off, and make it your constant companion. If you will commit to one full year, you will be mightily strengthened against deceit in the future. Peace.

Scripture is understood line upon line- one scripture revealing the meaning of another, and by the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit, a teacher for those who believe, it is not understood. Personally, I do not read "church history" and books written by men. Many of them, including these NAR self-proclaimed new apostles preceding the return of Jesus, are actually sent out to deceive and lead astray.
