Walking Through the Bible

Updated on October 13, 2010

This is some what different to what I normaly write, but with a lot of study and reading I have been able to put this together, so I hope it will enlighten you about more of God's word, the Bible.

I have written this into another site where I write so many will have the chance to read about how the Bible was written.

How many times do you hear those say that the earth is millions of years old, I wonder how they think that, well does it really matter how old it is, the main thing is that we should know how we stand with our God.

Now the Bible has it that the earth was formed around -2166 B.C.?

The Old Testament was written over a long period of time, now to place it in the ( Almanic Chronological) it would be like this...........

The Law, History, Poetry, Major Prophets, Minor Prophets.

The book of Genesis which is the first book in the Bible it explains all about the creation and things that were to follow.

Then came the book of Job, and this comes under Poetry, then the next 4 books, Exodus, Levitious, Numbers, Deuteronomy, are all books of Law.

The next 9 books, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1st.Samual, 2nd.Samual, 1st.Kings, 2nd.Kings, 1st.Chronicles, 2nd.Chronicles, are all about History, for what was taken place during the early stages.

Then came the next 3 books with more Poetry, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Songs of Songs, then there are 8 books for minor prophets, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Zephaniah, Habakkuk, and in between Zephaniah & Habukkuk 2 major prophets who are Jeremiah & Lamentations.

Now all this happened between the beginning of time and the exile.

After exile 2 major prophets Ezekiel and Daniel, then 1 book of a minor prophet Obadiah was written, 3 more books of History was written, Ezra, Nahemiah, Esther, then 3 more books of minor prophets, Haggai, Zechariah, & Malachi, then the book of Psalms.

All these books are in the Old Tesament 39 in total.

But to have the Bible as we know it its called (Topical)

The Creation and happenings 1 book, The Law 4 books, History 12 books, Poetry 5 books, Major Prophets 5 books, Minor Prophets 12 books.

All these are in order as we know the Bible.

Now for the New Tesament there are only 27 books.

Now to put them in (Chronological order) Galations,James,1st.Thessalonians,2nd.Thessalonians,1st.Corinthians,2nd.Corinthians, Romans,Mark,Philemon,Colossians,Ephesians,Luke,Acts,Phillipians,1st.Timothy,Titus,

2nd.Timothy,1st.Peter,2nd.Peter,Matthew,Hebrews,Jude,John,2nd.John,1st.John,3rd.John,

Revelations.

But to put these in the order as we know it they are as they are,.

Matthew being the first and tells about the family of Jesus up to the crucifiction and His leaving the grave in reserection.

Then 3 books of Gospels,1 book of History written by Paul, 21 books for the Letters most of them written by Paul, then the last book of the Bible Revelations was written by John, telling about the things to come and end times of the earth as we know it today.

Well I hope that you got something from all this, as it will give you an insight of how the Bible and each book was written.

You need to remember that all these books in the Bible were God inspired.

And God has said that if anyone alter takes away or adds to will be punished, Revelations 22:18-19

God loves you.
