Where Did Vampires Come From

Most people agree that vampires or the creation of vampires can be traced back to Judas Iscariot. Many legends say that Judas Iscariot was cursed to wander the earth for ever for selling out Christ. And that he and those created by him are where vampires came from.

People around the world think of vampires as that undead creature living by night and sleeping in a coffin by day going out each night filled with blood lust hunting for a human to prey on for their life giving blood for the blood is life and the life is blood. However quite possibly we as humans don't know everything we think we do about vampires. Maybe just maybe it's not quite as black and white an issue as we think it is.

Peter Plogojowitz

The Vampire Story of Peter Plogojowitz

Ten years after he died people in his village in Hungary claimed to see Peter wandering the village streets at night. His widow claimed he came to her window and demanded his shoes. She had given them away.

Soon people with their throats torn out were found each morning in the area. And people still claimed to see Peter walking around the village at night. Village elders contacted the near by soldiers and they came at their request and dug up Peters grave.

When Peters grave was opened he was found to be in a perfectly preserved state even though he had been dead for ten years. He was dragged from his grave and burned and his ashes were scattered to the four directions to ensure he was gone. Peter was never again seen to wander the village at night. And no other strange deaths occurred. So maybe just maybe Peter was preying on his former friends and neighbors.

According to popular legend and popular fiction the victim of a vampire either dies or becomes a vampire. Ann Rice brought vampires to life like they never had been before. Who can not imagine Lestat wondering the dark alley ways and passages of New Orleans French Quarter. I like to think that if there really are vampires that walk among us that they would be like Lestat and the other vampires that Ann Rice brought to life in her books.

True Blood the new HBO vampire series has proved to be one of the most popular vampire TV series ever made. The HBO Series True Blood is loosely based on the Southern Vampire Chronicles which is a series of books by Charlaine Harris. True Blood has proved to be a huge success as the HBO series has developed quite a cult following as the American public appears to be interested in anything and everything about Vampires.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was one of the most popular Vampire TV Series of our time and it and its spin off Angel still have a huge cult following.

Who doesn't think of what just might be hidden just beyond the dark of that nighttime window. What could be out there looking in. Is it possible there really is a vampire out there seeking out who it might prey upon.

And if you yourself were offered eternal life and the opportunity to live and walk through the centuries to come what would you choose. And how hard a choice would it actually be. Could you turn down eternal life or would you choose to embrace the night.

Vampire Hunting

Before you go vampire hunting use care that what you are hunting really is a vampire. Quite possibly if you feel you have a vampire problem you should use the below vampire prevention methods.

1. Scatter mustard seeds across your roof and at your doors. The theory is that the vampire must stop and count the seeds before it can proceed.

2. Hang strings of garlic above the entrances to your house. Especially at the doors.

3. Paint your door ways with Holy Water.

4. Obtain sea salt that has been blessed and place it under your bed to keep vampires at bay.

5. Hang crucifixes that have been blessed throughout your house.

6. Wear a blessed cross on a chain around your neck to keep away the vampires. The cross should be blessed and made of silver and the chain should be silver.

7. Use care with whom you invite into your house. It is said in most legends that a vampire must be invited in.

What If A Werewolf Is After You

If you find yourself being stalked by a werewolf it is a common belief that you can kill the werewolf with a silver bullet. Some legends say that it helps if the silver bullets are made from an object that was blessed by a Catholic Priest.

While some people claim that you must cut the head from a Werewolf or remove its heart and burn it to kill a werewolf. While some believe that the herb wolf bane can either kill or really slow down a werewolf.

While there is another legend that Mercury is a sure fire method for killing Werewolf's. Some people place the mercury into bullets and shoot it into the werewolf.

It is said that if you hurt a werewolf badly and it is laying there on the ground you should cut its head from its body with a silver knife or silver sword.

But you should really use care when killing a werewolf for it is said that a werewolf turns back into the human it was if you kill it. You just might have a hard time convincing the authorities that the person you just killed was minutes before a living breathing werewolf.

But if your trying to save your life from an attacking werewolf at least you know how to kill one if you should ever have the need. I would suggest if you have to kill a werewolf to have someone there with a camera to document it for the authorities.

Is There A Werewolf On The Cherokee Indian Reservation?

It is said that a werewolf is a person who has the ability to change from all human into a wolf human hybrid usually on the night of the full moon. It is a common belief that werewolf's are made when a human is scratched or bitten by a werewolf. The werewolf was and is a common legend all across Europe and it was a belief held by some American Indians even before the white man came to America.

The Navajo believed very much in shape shifters and werewolf's and many still do so today. In the desert southwest of the USA there have been many strange killings in modern times supposedly carried out by werewolf's.

Werewolf's have been hunted down for centuries all across Europe and some people have even been tried , convicted and executed for the crime of being a werewolf. In the years from 1764 through 1767 a large wolf like creature that walked up right on its hind feet and wore shreds of clothes killed upwards of 80 men, women, and children in central and southern France.

The American Navajo people have a great fear of witches dressed in wolfs clothing. Something that was said to be over seven feet tall that had a human shape and wolf features and wore some clothing killed hundreds of animals and at least 22 men , women, and children in northern New Mexico and southern Arizona in 1938 through 1939. It was always described the same and it was later said that Navajo Holy Men were finally able to kill the witch that was changing into a wolf and doing the attacks. It is still carried as an open case today.

So something was out there in France and in the dessert southwest of the USA killing people. Was it a werewolf or werewolf's we will probably never know. But it is a historical fact that the murders happened. Some police in the USA murders said the killings were the most brutal murders they had ever seen. Some victims were ripped to pieces with body parts thrown around.

Is There A Werewolf On The Cherokee Indian Reservation?

On the Cherokee Reservation in western North Carolina many times over the last two hundred years the story has been told that a creature like a Werewolf is a real animal and it lives there on the reservation. If you check into the history of the reservation and you know who to ask you will be told the story that every so often that a werewolf like creature will make attacks on the Cherokee reservation or near to it. Some of the older Cherokee people think that it was a curse that was put on a certain family that lives on the reservation to this day.

Last Documented Attacks Happened In 1967

In 1967 something tore a family apart near Bryson City North Carolina which is near to the Cherokee reservation. Five people lost their lives that day and the murders have never been solved. A man, a woman, two teenaged girls, and a five year old boy were brutaly savaged by something that attacked and ate parts of them. The murder was never solved and blood hounds that were brought in to try to track the killer refused to follow the animals trail. It would appear that the dogs are smarter than we are.

There Were More Reported Werewolf Attacks In 1953

There is also a story told on the reservation that the same type of creature killed seven people in 1953 in a very simular situation. Again that time no one was ever arrested for the murders. In 1953 four people were killed up at the end of Big Cove Road on the reservation and three more were killed five days later at a remote cabin on the Maggie Valley side of the mountain.

What kind of creature could be commiting these murders and why has it never been caught or killed. Is it a human that is shapeshifting from a human to a werewolf like creature? No one really knows. But it is a fact that something is doing the killings.

Some of the older people on the reservation say that these murders have gone on for over 200 years and no person or creature has ever been killed or captured. One older Cherokee man told us that its not if it will happen again but only when will it happen again.

Some Cherokee even claim that some attacks by the beast may have been covered up to keep down fear and to keep the story of the Cherokee Reservation Werewolf Story from spreading.
