Where Are You Spiritually?
Realize that God is Searching for You
Every man and woman on earth has a choice; a free will to choose between obeying God and rebelling against Him. God is asking you today as He did with Adam in the past, “Where are you?” (Gen 3:9) Now God was not asking Adam for his geographic location, nor is He asking that of us. God is all-powerful, all-present, and all-knowing. Rather, God wanted Adam to realize where he was—where his sin of disobedience has led him.
God wants us to realize where we are. Where are you in the midst of this raging spiritual battle for the hearts and souls of humankind? Where are you spiritually? Where are you morally? Where do you stand?
Now all humankind may or may not realize that they are separated from God. When sin entered the world through Adam, we lost our relationship with God. Humankind has attempted to remedy the problem of separation via human-made religions. That’s why you have all the religions of the world. That’s the reason you have Buddhism, Confucianism, animism, and all kinds of religious “isms.” However, these religions are but another form of human-made fig leaves that fail to hide our nakedness before the presence of God. And this is the grand deception of the enemy. This is Satan’s great lie. In actuality, humankind, through religion, is searching for God.
What we don’t realize is that God is searching for us. Something inside tells us there is a God. The whole human race feels this call, this divine tug, this cosmic reality. It’s the reason why the wise men from the East came to Jerusalem Him asking, “Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews?” (Mt 2:2) Wise men today still seek the Savior.
A spiritual showdown between God’s truth and the devil’s deceit unfolds within our very beings, but God’s Word is living truth that exposes the enemy’s lie. God has revealed Himself in the Bible. It is where God has revealed Himself fully and completely in the person of His Son, Jesus.
From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible is a book of redemption. It’s a book about God’s love and forgiveness for all the sons and daughters of Adam. If God had to slay an animal and with its skin clothe the man and his wife (Gen 3:21), likewise He covers repentant sinners with Christ’s shed blood on the cross. Under God’s law, almost everything is purified with blood, “and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins” (Heb 9:22). Jesus loved us enough to free us from our sins by His blood (Rev 1:5). “For God loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but have eternal life” (Jn 3:16).
God loves you. God is searching for you. God is asking you today, “Where are you spiritually?”
