You Know You Are Creating This...right?
Who Else Could It Be?
Consciousness is a great question, to me. What constitutes consciousness? The answer to that question is whatever we say consciousness is, is what it is.
Reining in the mind is a huge task. We have allowed ourselves to be unconscious at times; just disengaged from the fact that we are in control of the helm. During these periods we soak up the messages being broadcast to us from whatever environment we find ourselves in. I don't know what you are creating right now, but, to me, it would be useful to ask yourself, "What is More Important to Me than anything else?"
Because of life's leniency we are given free choice, even if someone else is in charge of us. We are still choosing whether to continue to allow it or to support it getting better. If we are committed to something else, then we can make suggestions to those who are now in charge.
My life has undergone numerous tests on my resolve to have a great life. Things happen and I understand this, but my notion is that I am creating it through the unconscious periods of my life. During these periods I allow tv shows and the media to tell me what to think, I eat things that do not support me, I dwell on the past, which, from what I can tell creates more of the same, and I let my mind go. My brain is still working, but my relationship with the bigger picture is confused...
I know the temptation to look outside myself for why things are the way they are. It seems a little scary to me when I look at everything I am aware of happening in the world. It is a lot to take on to say, "this is all me", but as long as I am here, who else is there in my awareness? Who else could there be in your awareness than you?
