Yes....and here's why. I believe that God did create man in His own image...but that doesn't mean He looks like us. That's just an archaic holdover by the literalists. Image means character and attributes. We were created to reveal the character of God, but got sidetracked.
And I have no problem believing that God could produce Eve from Adam's rib. We know every cell contains the total genetic map for the entire person. We also know that bone marrow is one of the most fertile areas of cellular reproduction. so, in actuality, God simply did what science is validating on a daily basis.
Oh, and did He form Adam from the ground? Every element discovered in the earth has been shown to be in man at approximately the same ratio as the overall ratio in the planet. Water is the most prevalent, and we are 70% water, etc. Trace elements-trace amounts. Go figure...
Talking serpent? Why not. Anybody with a Yorkie knows that dogs communicate with us still.... Porpoise research shows they have a language, as do whales, which are both kingdom Animalia and mammals. Is it really a stretch to believe that before Adam abdicated his place of dominion that this communication was more credible?
