Atheist,What causes,or How do you Define Bad and Good Character?
Do you think that its all the same or do you think it don't exist as you believe that good and evil don't exist?
Good and evil exist as intent. But I'd say though each person probably defines good or bad character slightly differently, you wouldn't get too much variation in a theist vs atheist sampling.
Fools and trolls winning, duh. This guy is either a troll and a good one or he is a very presumptuous and angry jackwagon.
It may be a misconception that an atheist does not believe in good and evil. Without believing in God, a person can still have very strong moral beliefs. This moral sense exists because all human beings are capable of empathy. If someone hurts me in some way and causes me pain, I know that I will cause a similar pain if I do the same thing to someone else. Many atheist live by the same Golden Rule as the theists. Why? Because if I am nice to peole then people will be nice to me. Yes, good and evil exist -- and they are the result of human behavior.
Some of us contemplate on it based upon the interactions we have with other people and by studying the world around us, rather than having it read to us in a children's book.
bad and evil , like good or nice are nothing more then words that decribe actions or thoughts. what causes anything a person does is many things. it can be anything from a persons background, their genitics, mental health, etc. i never met an athiest that would say good and evil don't exist but an athiest might say good and bad instead of evil. what causes you to wonder so much about how athiests think if you believe in god like you seem to want us to think? are you having doubts perhaps?

Or vice verse? I have heard the argument that you can't have good without evil many times. Do you believe this is true, both from a metaphysical and semantic point of view?

Why is God only praised for the Good, never blamed for the Bad?People have often stated that they are offended or at least find it offensive if God is blamed for the Evil in the world (or that happens to people), but praise Him for the Good. Did God not create everything - including Good and...

How can you be an atheist if you can't disprove the existence of God?What validity is there to the double negative argument for the existence of God? Is it really rational to justify belief in something by the mere fact that it cannot be disproved? You also can not disprove the existence of...

Do you believe that the concepts of SIN and EVIL are a man-made religious concepts used asa guilt inducing means to control the masses and making them subservient to a religious authority? Or do you strongly believe that sin and evil exist in ACTUALITY and REALITY?

Are atheists rebelling against 'bad religion' because God's image has been tarnished by the church?"By believing in God, you have gained something; spirituality. By disbelieving in God, you have lost something; sanity." Abdus Salaam
