    Can God exist?

People say that miracles happen everyday. Maybe miracles do happen.
As I see it, we cannot see, hear, or know God until we die. And even then, we do not know if anything is beyond death. Without knowing what is beyond, how can we truly say that god exists?

You can't say it in the way you would say that tree exists or that rock exists. Nor can you prove that God does not exist. God is about mysticism.

Absolutely yes. I do know personally what is beyond death and know what is exactly waiting for me when I die and crossover to the other side of death. Happy trails to everyone when they die on the earth and find out what they will be experiencing there on the other side of death. On August 1, 1982 A.D. a Sunday morning GOD shown me in a vision the other side of death. It is glorious. Prepare yourself now while living on the earth because you will get exactly what your spiritual condition is while on the earth before you die and crossover to the other side of death. I was given a sneak preview personally by GOD of what is in store for me when I die and have firsthand experience and knowledge of it. To everyone else I say: surprise, surprise, surprise the time is now to know and hear GOD for GOD is speaking to you through my words of this answer. Bye, bye, bye.

When God was here, on this earth, as the Son of God, Jesus, He demonstrated that He does exist by performing miracles that defied our human limitations.  God is outside of time and exists in the fullness of all dimensions.  He's not limited to the constraints of space and time like we are.  We are able to experience God today as well, He works through miracles, He speaks to us and reveals Himself to us in ways that are outside of what we know or can do.  That's how we know it is God.  The main way God has worked in my life is through transforming my heart when I am seeking Him and His will for my life.  When He does this, two things happen as a result of His revealing truth;  one is that I am given insight and love in an area and in a way that I know I couldn't have made happen on my own and the second is that I am able to see myself in the light of truth in that area.  This means I am no longer defending myself and my own motives, but recognizing the flaws and sinfulness that exist in my own heart...thus realizing my need for God.  You might like the book "Flatland" by Edwin A. Abbott if you're mathematically minded at all.  It helps give a glimpse into how God might appear to us and how we would perceive Him in our world.  Also, I've recently written two hubs addressing how we perceive God if you're interested:

Of course he can! Most people doubt when they have never known God nor proved His love and protecting care.

God does exist. Look around and up. Touch yourself and note that only you felt it. God created you a unique soul among all existence. To think that billions of unique souls randomly came into existence is in the sublime.

Talk to God and listen, listen, and listen. He shall answer.

Miracles do happen everyday. Every time a baby is born a miracle happens. But then millions of children do not get to grow up. They die of preventable diseases and malnutrion or get killed in wars. Most of the casualties in Afghanistan have been children (killed by Christians whom believe that they are all going to Heaven when they die). What happened to the miracle?

As for those of you who believe that Jesus was the son of God ask yourself this: the Bible says that Jesus was the son of God - it also says that he was 'of the line of David'. Both statements cannot be true - they are mutually exclusive. If Jesus was the son of God he had no earthly father. If he was 'of the line of David' then he would have inherited the royal lineage paternally: through his father and grandfather.

Is the Bible telling us the whole Truth? I wonder.

Quote: 'Touch yourself and note that only you felt it'. Killer observation of a miraculous fact. Just be careful when doing it in public cos' there's every chance you'll get arrested..

IMO, the idea of god exists in the minds of millions. Many believe for it to be true, but how can one really prove the existance of an omniscient and omnipresent being? People follow the dogma of a religion and not the presense of this divine person itself. CAN God exist? I would think so, but not in such a contradictory, opressing way that christians believe.

If 'can' equals the possiblity..........then yes, many things are possible, even though they not be revealed or understood.

As I see it, we should know God BEFORE we die.

Without knowing what exists after death, ( and I do not, for I still live), how can we say that not knowing is reason enough to question whether or not God exists?

How does an antibiotic heal?  If you do not understand this, it is not enough cause to question that it DOES.  Some would call modern day antibiotics a miracle.

Because we do not grasp, understand, or comprehend, is not enough cause to deny.  It is only enough to say, that we do not understand.

The only way as an Orthodox Baha'i that we can answer the question is to say, whatever God is, It is unknowable in its Essence, we may see attributes that we believe indicate an Essence but we can never understand or know that Essence Itself, instead, we can see the attributes that are manifested in His High Prophets, like Christ, Moses, Muhammad, the Bab, Buddha, Krishna, Zoroaster, and Baha'u'llah, and the attributes of God, like mercy, love, peace, contentment, these we can know and see demonstrated in perfection in their lives and begin to understand through their pefect Mirroring of God's attributes that a diety might be indicated to be in existence.

Miracles aside, how can you say you can't know what is beyond?
Just look at the sunrise or a tiny bug up close. Feel the breeze and the sand. Everything that we have around us God put there to show us that there is evidence of some higher power. Romans 1:20 basically says that for "His (Gods) invisible attributes . . have been clearly perceived . . . in the things that have been made, so they are without excuse." So many smart people think that something went "POOF" and there we existed. But how can they really think that something as complex as humans can just evolve from a piece of dirt?

That in and of itself. YOU. Means that miracles happen.

    But we do know:

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. Romans 1:20 (Bible)

This from a collection of writings that is thousands of years old!

    James
