    Does God really listen?

When we pray or simply talk to him, does he listen? Does he really hear and listen to what we are saying?

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.(I peter 3:12)

Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another : and the Lord HEARKENED ,and HEARD it ,and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord ,and that thought upon his name.(Mal 3 :16)

Call unto me and I will ANSWER thee ,and shew thee great and mighty things ,which thou knowest not.(.Jer 33:3)

....They shall call on my name and I will Hear them: (Zech 13 :9)

I really do believe that he listens. I remember a time in my life when I was very depressed I went on a beach at night and just watched and listened to the waves. I asked God to help me, and then I got kicked off of the beach by a guard seconds later. I thought is was humorious.

Yes, he listens.  But He's God.  We're human, he's divine.  He is in a much wider realm of existence, so it can be difficult to see how he answers.  Sometimes, I think that we may believe he's not responding to our words when he's clearly responding to our actions.  Perhaps our actions are part of our prayers...and God's ultimate goal is to get us to trust in Him above everything else, because He is the most dependable being in existence.  Everything else is, by nature, transitory and undependable (especially people, since God has given them free will).

God listens to the prayer and longing of each for God is the petitioner as well as the granter of the petition.

if you believe in God and you think he listens then he does, if you believe in God but don't think he listens then he does, because if your a Christian shouldn't you know he's always listening, if you don't believe in God then your listening and who ever else you might be talking to probably is too.

While I was taught to believe in traditional Christianity, I have chosen not to accept this. Whether God listens cannot really be determined because so many people are talking to him at the same time. It would not seem logical that God could here everyone by being everywhere at the same time as Cristians claim he is. You have a mind and a voice. Listen to yourself and then find out what it is you seek and use your mind, your voice, and your reasoning to obtain the answers.

Yes, God can literally listen to everything. He manages every molecule and every unit of energy. He generates millions of miracles for us per second that most people take for granted. Every heart beat is a miracle and a blessing, - every breath of air. Do you know what a blessing and a miracle of creation it takes for you to just taste your food and to go for a walk? How many blessings per second does the average person take for granted?

God loves everyone of us like we were his beloved child. He does everything with our very best interest at heart. But he can see the real big picture and takes things that we can't fathom into account, including our eternity, not just our comparatively "flash in the pan" time here on earth.

    Yes he does.

1 Peter 3:12 says "For the eyes of Jehovah are upon the righteous ones, and his ears are toward their supplication."

Psalms 145:18 says "Jehovah is near to all those calling upon him."
