A person’s final salvation is not determined at the moment that he begins to put faith in Jesus, there is more to come. No one knows what tomorrow will bring, but I do know that salvation depends on the continuity of faith not a single, one-time act of faith.
Accepting” Jesus is a continuing way of life, and its continuity depends on the saved person enduring until the end. He that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.
Endure until the end of what? It could be that you continue to believe until the belief you profess ends. My life could end at any time, and unexpectedly, do I still believe?
What if I stopped believing, what if I quit? I could quit, because I wanted the blessing of being saved, but I did not want the responsibility that goes with the belief. If I want the blessings but not the responsibility, then I have not endured until the end.
