How does Religion effect your day to day life?
please no hate comments
A human being attitude is morphed by experiences and beliefs.
Religion forms the basis of our beliefs and thus play a vital role in determining our attitude in our day-to-day transactions.
Personally I am not affected what-so-ever by religion, and I'm happy and I'm content in my day to day life. Most of all I do not fight people from different religions?
I am growing stronger each day as I understand more about religion. It has helped me since young and I am always in search of more info and understanding. It is great to know and understand when you have strong faith.
I guess the simple answer is ..It doesn't although to read many of the Hubs and questions on this site it obviously troubles a lot of people in one way or another.
Many people seem to be seeking answers and appear to be feeling a degree of guilt at what they assume is a loss of faith or belive in what they has been drummed into them for years.
To me religion is delusional, it is a power thing and has being going on for centuries, it challenges freedom of thought and condemns all those who would seek alternative answers.
For those who are happy in that world and even find comfort there who are we to spoil their delusion just as long as they do not prevent others who may wish to explore other avenues.
If you are a Christian, it affects your day to day life by becoming what your main focus in life is. In every action you do, you should seek to glorify God. You should make your deciscions based upon the Bible, fellowship, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You should work to keep your life pure, not only from sexual immorality, but in every faccet in life.
Your everyday life from what music you listen to, what shows on tv you watch, all the way to how you interact with your friends or enemies; all should be changed because of the "renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2). When you come to believe, your entire life should be different than what it was before you believed; you will no longer worry about the the things of this world, but have your hope in things above. No, life won't be perfect, and it won't be without persecution, but it will be more joyful
My faith gets me through my life with hope. My religion gives me a place to worship and a doctrine to follow among those of similar beliefs.
Religion impacts every aspect of our daily lives. Look around...

Very much so but extensively much so for a lot of hubbers!
Yep, prayers and psalms really work for me in my daily life. If God were to come down to earth today, he'd say,
'She sure prays a lot!'
It's just part of my life and I think others have the right to be religious or not.
Amen.
Religion is a mill-stone around all our necks; believers and non-believers alike.
It drags us all down and embroils us in wars and persecution of the worst kind. Look at the recent Koran burning incident in the US and its consequences: 40 or more UN staff killed in Afghanistan.
The minister (that's a sick joke in itself) of hate that organized the burning branded Islam a violent religion. He is an American. Has he forgotten that America has invaded more countries, dropped more bombs on civilians and propped up more bloody dictatorships than any other country in history?
That minister's (LOL) religion allows him to see the world in a very peculiar way. It allows him to selectively ignore the hard truths of history and focus only on a comic-book concept of good and evil which dictates, 'christian good - everybody else bad'. In his eyes christians can do no wrong - even when they are burning children to death with napalm and white phospherous.
I don't follow a religion. I am spiritual and I follow my spiritual path. How it effects it? Peace, through my meditation; awareness through my conscious living; compassion and love through the opening of the heart; etc. etc.
I am always aware that God created all of us; therefore, I strive to treat ppl kindly, and forgive quickly.
Religion is part of our culture, so it influences our daily life more than we think or want. And Obviously God is all around so i try to always be truthful and do things with love.
thank you everyone for your replies, it has given me alot of varied answers and has helped me understand religion as an entity to individual people
I am thankful to a religion that has introduced me to the concept of an Almighty, Loving God.
Because of His love, I am now able to see wonderful things coming to pass in my daily life and have developed faith that I could not have otherwise developed on my own.
With this faith, I am able to take religion beyond religiosity, into spirituality; e.g. understanding that everything happens according to Divine Providence based on God's intricately woven Master Plan.
Everything in my life seems to have culminated in bringing me to an understanding of how much God loves me and wants me to be happy.

Why do people of different religions constantly argue which is the the "true" religion? It seems like a never ending cycle. It seems like a war of words. I became caught in it at one time myself. I don't know that anyone will ever win it?

Why is there not one god with one message for all mankind? Why should there be vast differences between religions where doctrines and dogma conflict and contradict if there is one god? Why should each religion forbid their followers to follow any other religion if there is one god? Why are the vast...
