Unable to prove a negative?
According to http://www.graveyardofthegods.net/articles/cantpro... -
"Of course it is not possible to prove that God does not exist, if “God” is a thing that has no definition, no characteristics, and no location."
Now - if you said that God is a Dr. Suess cartoon that eats green cheese and ham and that the Earth is a big God turd - now we can argue!
Agnostic versus atheist.
Just becuase I admit I have no idea about the nature of God - doesn't mean I don't believe.
From http://wiki.ironchariots.org/index.php?title=Athei... -
" 1. God exists.
2. God does not exist.
There are two positions one can take with respect to either claim:
1. Belief or acceptance
2. Disbelief or rejection
For claim number 2 (the god does not exist), the theist takes the second position (disbelief), while the atheist can hold either position (belief or disbelief).
While logic dictates that exactly one of the two claims above must be true (assuming the concept of "god" is sufficiently well-defined in the first place), there is no such restriction in the case of belief. Just because someone doesn't believe something, that doesn't mean they believe the opposite."
Perhaps a question of strong atheism.versus weak atheism might be what you are looking for instead.
