Without bias, what proof an atheist awaits to believe in God?
Does atheist truly do not believe or are are they waiting for some door to open?
I'm always waiting for doors to open, and I'm not even an atheist. My nose sometimes runs, and my feet sometimes smell. I'm all jacked up, man!
If you consider that God could merely be an answer that certain individuals have trained themselves not to like, then you can see the thing much better. I think though, that you must be inclined to view God as the Abrahamic Deity, and you can open doors for little old ladies, weirdos (raises hand), and just about anyone else for the rest of your life - and you'll never once change anyone's stated opinion concerning the existence of, or fabrication of any God or Gods.
Evangelists are concerned with converting others. Not all religions do this.
Refusing to give your life to Jesus doesn't mean you don't believe in a higher power - just means the person doesn't believe in the Nicene Creed, written by a committee during the 4th century.
Most atheists did, once upon a time, believe in God. Then they grew up.
We atheists are not, either, waiting for some door to open. We are, on the other hand, waiting for somebody to switch the light on. That somebody is you. The light is inside your head. When you turn it on you will see the world for what it truly is - not some 2000 year old dreamscape that you sleepwalk through each and every day that you leave that light switched off.
Wake up. See the world as it truly is. Then pitch in with the rest of us to see how best we can improve it.
In my opinion believing in God is a personal spiritual experience. You cannot either prove or disprove God's existence scientifically - and atheists usually rely on scientific researches. However some atheists BELIEVE that there is no God. You can twist the question and ask "what proof a religious person awaits to not believe in God?". You can always interpret any fact in order to prove what you believe. Only inner spiritual experiences can change what you believe.
there is no proof what so ever. it is the other way around then what your asking. why do believers believe in something that has never been proven. not even a lit bit.
Yoo bubba, unfailingly, this question is asked every 6 or 7 days, like repeating it will make atheists, or anybody else for that matter, feel any different than we do.
Listen here my man, I'm not waiting for any door to open, I'm waiting for some brains to engage!
Here's another way of putting it, so as there are no doubts –(until the very same question pops up again here, that is HAHA): Assuming I would ever wish to have any proof of the existence of an out-of-this-world being, the proof I'd need would be a see, touch, smell, hear, taste type of proof. PLUS, someone better walk ME on water to give me a clue that the proof is real at all. YOWL!
Non- atheists should respect the freedom that atheists have in not believing God. It all falls into God's perfect plan for each of us.
All our souls including those of atheists know God.
The human mind cannot experience God. Any one looking for proof that God exist is coming from his mind. Many who say they believe in God and carry the bibles with them do not know or have experienced God. They too are working from the minds, because they are struggling to prove God from scriptures. The soul needs no evidence, it just knows.
However, all of you are on path to God and this includes atheists. For atheists their souls have decided to follow an spiritually exciting path to re-discover God from scratch. They knew God before birth, but after birth the soul has caused an amnesia in their mind about God. To facilitate this Grand experience of re-discovering God. God has consented to their soul's request and we should bless them. God has also consented infinite paths from infinite number of souls toward him. So let us not judge the beliefs of others and other religions.
If we see God, actually meet him and have him tell us that he is real and we should follow him, then we would be religious. But for now, we are stumped by the fact that people can be otherwise sensible, but believe that humanity started with a talking snake and a magical piece of fruit. The bible is a good book, no doubt, but just because its a book doesn't mean its true. Twilight is a book, but I don't believe in vampires or that the characters are real people. I believe in evolution because it adds up, I've seen the proof with my own eyes and held fossils in my hands. It makes sense, whereas a powerful being creating the world in 7 days and then making a man and making a woman out of his rib and then a talking snake and a magic apple, that just baffles me. I can't tell it apart from fairytales.
it's simply applying Occam's Razor - the most parsimonious explanation of the world around me doesn't require the existence of a god, so adding one the mix isn't useful
Newton's mechanics were taken as law until odd bits of reality called them into question - photoelectric effect, light's wave/particle duality, etc; so Occam's razor showed Newton was no longer sufficient to explain what we observed and the sesult was the Einsteinian revolution and quantum mechanics.

Just a question, but it would seem if there really were no God, then Atheists couldn't exist. Is Atheism a religion? They definitely seem to be unified by a common belief.

For an atheist, what is the meaning/purpose of man's existence? This question is intended for me to know what really makes an atheist. Maybe, by this question, I can understand more an atheist and see where they are coming.

I have noticed that many atheists and anti-Christians (as can be seen from the most active forums on Hubpages), have a huge distaste for Christianity primarily because of the contradiction between there being a loving God and an eternal hell-fire for those who do not do what he wants. From my study...

How can you be an atheist if you can't disprove the existence of God?What validity is there to the double negative argument for the existence of God? Is it really rational to justify belief in something by the mere fact that it cannot be disproved? You also can not disprove the existence of...
