   Some great scriptures to study on this topic are 1 Thess.4 and 1 Corin.15.
   
   Those participating in the rapture will be those who died in Christ and then those that are alive and remain in Christ.  Baptized believers in Christ Jesus who are sealed with the Holy Ghost will be "caught up" to meet Jesus in the air.  We must keep in mind though that after our initial regeneration (repentance/asking God for forgiveness and turning away from sin) we must continue to strive to walk in the Spirit and not fulfill the lust of the flesh.  We must put into action the Word of God and not just quote it.  This includes loving our brothers and sisters and our neighbors as ourselves.  We must forgive those who have done wrong to us just like we seek God's forgiveness.  We are cleansed of our sins by the blood of Jesus Christ but even Christians sometimes stumble, so we have to be quick to seek God's face and ask for restoration.  To walk perpetually in sin is not acceptable.  I think we know when we are doing this.  We know where our heart is and so does God.  So when the trumpet sounds God will declare who will be raptured and who won't.  We may be surprised who will be left behind, so we must not focus so much on people but on what the will of God is for our lives.  As for the clothes, I belief they will be left behind.  Partly because they are earthly and also because there is no purpose for them.  Our bodies will be changed from mortal to immortality.

   You have been given a great answer as to who is taken in the rapture. All who have received Christ as personal Lord and Savior. A person realizing that they are a sinner in need of a Savior cries out to Him in believing faith. As for the clothes Revelation 7:14 says that they wash their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. We will leave our clothes behind for they are of this world but we will be given robes to wear washed white in His blood. Don't be afraid that we will all be naked because God has called nakedness repeatedly a shame being beheld in the open.  It has been reserved for married folks on earth to delight in. But as for public nakedness God has repeatedly called it shameful (for example Revelation 15:15)

   According to scripture you are eligible for the rapture after you accept Jesus who is the Christ as your Lord and Savior, get baptized in water as He did, and live out your faith. Then according to the bible if you are still alive when Jesus comes the second time you will be raptured. It doesn't say whether your clothes are left behind or not. Howver revelation does say that you will be given a white robe and a new name so why worry about clothes.

   If I am still alive at the time of the Rapture, I know I'll be one of those to meet with the Lord in the air when the trumpet sounds. I am confident in this because I have trusted in Christ Alone for my salvation, repented of my sins and have asked Him to be my Lord and Savior.  While I have been baptized (believers baptism), this is not a requirement of being saved. The act of Baptism does not save you, but rather the change that takes place in your heart. It is the way to publicly proclaim your decision to be a follower of Christ. There have been many death bed professions of faith not allowing for time for Baptism. I feel certain these new believers will be raised with the rest of us when that time comes. When Christ returns with the Saints(believers) we will all be wearing white robes and riding white horses. Therefore we will leave our clothes behind.

   Matthew 24 is one of the prophesy books of the end times.  The rapture of the church is spoken of in verses 15-21.  It specifically states "the let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; let him woi is on the housetop not go down to get the things out that are in his house; and let him who is in the field not turn back to get his cloak."  Again, we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye.  Those who died in Christ will be raised first (and of course, they are most likely dressed) and we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds (we may be dressed or may be in the shower!), and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  We will not have to worry, for we are clothed in "white robes" as is stated in the Word.  AMEN!

   Darby, schofield and several other spiritist types from a dream a girl had in the early 1700's    It was unheard of until this time in the church.
   The scriptures they use are taken out of context, as many are.   The scriptures IF YOU CHECK THEM OUT that they use actually say the opposite.   The scriptures they use about the one will be taken are clearly showing that the UN Righteous are taken.   there are many scriptures telling us that the righteous shall inherit the earth

   The Bible tells us that at the second coming of Christ those who are Christ's will be caught up to meet the Lord. There is no secret about it because the Bible also says that every eye shall behold him, even those who pierced him. His coming will be "as the lightening flasheth out of the east and shineth unto the west". it's going to be big and noisy and cataclysmic, not silent or secret.
   
   Since 1Corinthians 15 tells us that this mortal will at that time put on immortality, and we shall be changed, it doesn't seem reasonable to believe that we will take these clothes with us. The same chapter in Corinthians explains that Christ's coming will put an end to death, sin and earthly kingdoms.
   
   Based on John 3:16, we know that those who believe in Jesus Christ shall have everlasting life. The book of Revelation further confirms that the saved are those who keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus.

   I was just reading the other answer and I think there is
   more to say.
   If you read John 17:3 it says:
   "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee (you)
   the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou (you)
   hast sent."
   That means we must know both the Only True God and
   his Son, Jesus Christ.
   In Matthew 5:5 we can read:
   "Blessed are the meek:for they shall inherit the earth."
   That means that some will live in peace here on earth.
   And the same opinion we can read in Matthew 6:9,10.
   It's the Lord's Prayer. He said: "Our Father who art in
   heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come,
   Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.."
   That means that there shall be piece on earth by Gods
   Kingdom, and people will live here.
   The Prayer also say, that God's name will be hallowed.
   We have to know his name if we shall "hallow" it must
   we not?
   In the Bible we can read in Luke 4:16-19 that Jesus
   came to the synagogue in Nazareth and that they
   delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah.
   And what he was reading to the people there is from
   Isaiah chapter 61 where it says that God's name is
   Jehovah.
   We can also read in The Psalms 83:18:
   "That they ma know that thou alone, whose name is
   Jehova, Art the Most High over all the earth."

    Those sealed are still on the earth at Rev 9:4!
    
    This is well into the Tribulation period. How far into it: At Rev 9:1 the fifth angel of seven sounds his trumpet. That is the 5th Trumpet Judgment.
    
    There are 7 Seal Judgments, 7 Bowl Judgments, and 7 Trumpet Judgments (and 7 Thunder Judgments, sealed up and not written?)
    
    There is no rapture. This idea was introduced in the Scoffield Bible, after the rights were purchased by satanists. It is a fraud, designed to destroy.
    
    In Heaven, there will be new bodies. If the angels are clothed, I expect we will be as well.

    I think your kind of wise-cracking question is fun, to be sure. In that light, I don't think I ought to offer a serious answer of any kind.
    
    To answer the first part, I have no idea what's for dinner, let alone know if I or anyone else will be taken in the rapture. As for clothing, I guess it depends on the state of the place we land when the rapture takes us. I plan to be dressed comfortably. Naked doesn't sound fun. All the wind and everything could throw a lot of things out of place.
    
    Additionally, I suppose Jay Leno will be taken in the rapture because he makes so many people happy, (irreverently, or not). And I think he'll be fully clothed because we'd all want it that way.
    
    I think Mother Teresa is a shoo-in, although she isn't as fun as Jay.
    
    My personal opinion is that Barack may be left behind to clean up, and keep Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in line. Not that Barack doesn't deserve the rapture, (he does!) it's just that he's really into changing this place. Which is good. He'll have his turn if he does stay behind, I believe. I think they should keep their clothes on, too.
    
    And I think Simon Cowell will be left behind, clothed. There are more Susan Boyles out there, and he needs to finish the job of making them famous, miserable and wealthy.

    The bigger question is. "WHY IS IT THE PERCEPTION OF MILLIONS, THAT ALL-MIGHTY GOD, CREATOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH, THAT HE IS SO SMALL, WEAK AND POWERLESS, THAT HE SHOULD HAVE TO TAKE YOU OFF THE PLANET IN ORDER TO KEEP YOU SAFE FROM HIS WRATH POURED OUT UPON EVIL DOERS?"...(perhaps I have your attention now?) Another even BIGGER question...If none less than THE MESSIAH JESUS prayed in John 17, the following...then why are we having this discussion???

And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not...I'm not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one...As you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world...I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me because of their testimony...I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are...I in them and you in me, all being perfected into one. Then the world will know that you sent me and will understand that you love them as much as you love me."
    
    Does anyone see anyplace where HE prayed "take them off the planet to keep them safe" ?
    
    On the contrary HE asked that they be left here and sent into the world, and not just those standing in earshot, but the rest of us who believe on HIM because of they're testimony. Amen? Oh and by the way, Jesus (Ye'shua in Hebrew) is returning to RULE AND REIGN AS A CONQUERING KING to this earth and not coming on a yo-yo to take us away. That would be contrary to HIS own prayer in John 17.

       ACTUALLY JSUS IS RULING NOW AND WILL NOT RULE IN ETERNITY  He returns all authority to God at the judgment as His work is finished then.  the He submits to God like the rest of his sons do for eternity

    2 Pet 1:5-10 contains a very apt advice from the Apostle Peter. He says we can be sure of our call and election if we add to our faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. These are the steps to follow so as to be sure of making it at the rapture. The rapture involves a transformation from the physical body to a spiritual one so the issue of taking your clothes with you would be irrelevant in the event you get to make it at the rapture. You will simply take on a new glorious body and see Christ as he is cos we too will be like him (1 Cor 15:40-45, 1 John 3:2). The spiritual body is the soul.

    The first step is salvation through Jesus Christ. Confidence in our salvation comes from daily fellowship with God. It will be in a twinkling of an eye.
    
    Yes we get new bodies but the dead in Christ get theirs first. Not sure if you get to take your clothes but we are promised new bodies & garments.
    
    Leaving in the rapture will be a glorious event for believers. I'd sure rather be with God than hanging around for the tribulation.

    Though we will be given new garments at Christ return, Revelation 19:7-8.  Those that will be part of what is some call a pre-rapture during the 3 1/2 years of the Great Tribulation will need some clothes to wear. This will be a place of safety were those chosen as the elect will be taken 45 days previous to the Tribulation, Revelation 12:14, Daniel 12:11-12. The Serpent, Satan the Devil will send a flood or army after these saints but God will open the earth and swallow them up, Rev. 12:15-16. This will be a place in the wilderness somewhere on the earth and not in heaven, Isaiah 33:16, Isaiah 16:4. Revelation 12:17 shows Satan going after those left behind who keep God's commanments but for some reason have been complacent at preaching the word of God as a witness, Revelation 3:14-22.

    This word  "RAPTURE"  Has been interpreted to mean many things. I believe that it is first defined in the last verse of chapter 11 and continues through 12:2.   And he (the little horn) shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the holy mountain; yet HE shall come to HIS END and none shall help him. and at  THAT TIME  shall Michael stand up, the great prince that standeth for the  CHILDREN of THY  people, and there shal be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a Nation, and AT THAT TIME THY PEOPLE SHALL BE DELIVERED, every one that shall be found in the book.              Most preachers refer to these verses when referring to the Rapture. But, in truth these verses are refering to the children of thy (Daniel's) people. These are (every one) a Hebrew. The 144,000 that are given the seal of God are also (every one) a Hebrew.  Also, when Jesus was speaking in Matt. 24, concerning "two being in the field, one taken and the other left" ect. He also said in verse 34 that concerning everything that he had been discussing, "Verily I say unto YOU, THIS generation shall not pass till ALL of these things be fulfilled.  Jesus WAS NOT  talking to some generation almost 2,000 years later. This whole chapter was a PRIVATE conversation to Peter, James, John and Andrew. All of these things shall be fulfilled during the time of their generation. It is not such a bad thing that the "Rapture is Past tense,  so also is the Great Tribulation.

    I have read many of the responses and have considered your questions with regards to what I have read and learned through my upbringing and teachings.
    
    Question #1: How do you know that you'll be one of those who are raptured?
    
    Answer: You won't know. No one really does or would until the time comes. All that we have been left with are the teachings that Jesus, his apostles and the many religious figures have given us over the many millenia to let us know that it is how yo live and the examples you provide through your deeds that will determine whether you are taken unto heaven or left behind.
    
    Question #2: Do you take your clothes with you when you are raptured?
    
    Answer: Think about it. How were you born? fully clothed, no. You will leave this world the way you came into it. Remember the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. It was only after they ate the fruit of the tree of good and evil did they feel shame of their nakedness and thus hide from god, and clothed themselves.
    
    We all should consider being more comfortable with our bodies and care for what has been given to us. Our personal bodies and the world we have been born into. Live a righteous life by your personal faith, set examples through your deeds, not words, and you will be judged at the time appointed.
    
    To consider questioning what god has planned for us and the world is interesting for personal growth but to use such speculations as a guide to change what has been ordained is not only fool hearty, but incredibly nearsighted to what you should really be doing.

    I do not believe in the Rapture.
    Note: This is not a discussion on Preterist vs Futurist views.
    
    The Rapture/Left Behind Doctrine: One day the Savior is going to come back and crack the atmosphere and gather all of the believers to Heaven before the Tribulation. Everyone else who did not believe will go through the Tribulation, which is when the false savior (or who you might call the Antichrist) is going to establish their dominion for seven years, and the people that were left behind are going to have to live through that time and have a chance at redemption by being persecuted for their faith, ushering in the Millenial Kingdom.
    
    What we will do now is go over some key points that debunk this doctrine. I hope in the future to go in more detail.
    
    
    
    Matthew 24 3-5 gives us signs of the Savior's second coming and the end of the age. He answers and tells them to let no man deceive you, because many will come and say that they are him.
    
    Go to verse 36-39. He says it is going to be like the days of Noah. They were eating, drinking, marrying, acting like it is a normal day when Noah was out trying to prepare for the flood. Then, just like that, they are killed in the flood. Now in verse 39 it says the flood came and TOOK them away. They were killed. I want you to remember this word.
    
    Verse 40 says two will be in the field, and one will be TAKEN and another left. This is as the days of Noah. So when it says they will be taken, it means this one will be killed. Not saved, killed. The other one shall be left. He is the one that will be saved. Read it until verse 41. This is not saying these people are saved. They are killed.
    
    Here is something for you to think about. How did Noah and his family survive the flood? Were they taken off the planet and preserved in Heaven until it was over? Or, did Noah and his family build an ark to get through the flood? He went through the flood. He was not taken out of it, but through it. In this same way will the saints have to go through this period of tribulation
    
    
    
    
    
    
    If the Rapture is a scriptural doctrine regarding the period of Revelations, we should be able to find it in there. Turn to this book in your Bible. Notice how there is no mention of a Rapture happening before the Seven Seals, the Trumpets, Bowls of Wrath, or any of these things. Not one verse points to it. There are verses saying the Almighty's believers will not be given his wrath, but none of those say that they will be taken out of the Tribulation.
