I believe everything should be process with our brains before taking action.
That is why I have learnt in school about - Look before you leap.
Most of the time when you just do it without thinking, it can result unforeseen disaster when it is a mistake. I always believe that we can take a quick second decision to process and analyze before jumping into the action.
It is better safe than sorry.
A situation that I had witnessed in the past that we saw someone was drowning and a quick decision from a person jumped into the sea to rescue the person while the rest of the people were watching. When asked why the rest did not jumped into the water to rescue, it was answered that none of them knew how to swim. Only that person who jumped into the water and saved that person knew as he had learnt from survival swimming training.
From that lesson, I know that we need to process through our brains for every action we take in order to avoid disaster. If we do not know how to swim and jump into the water trying to save that person, it will result in 2 deaths.
