   Why do so many people want myths to be real?
   
   between god, ghosts, satan and other such myths, it seems that some people have a need for these things to be real, any ideas as to why?

   What can I say to you- you are bent on declaring God, demons and satan to be false.
   Do you want me to try to convince you there real?
   Or stand with you and call those that have given there true witness to be liers- and therefore stand myself as a lier and bear a false witness to you?
   Either way you will have no peace.
   You have already required a sign before you'll believe.
   There's nothing I can say to you but this- Repent and accept Jesus today- blessed are those who believe without seeing.
   This is what Jonah's message from God to Nineveh was- and this is the only sign that will be given to those who ask for a sign- because if you don't turn from your sin and accept Jesus for redemption from the effects of sin you will never be able to know God or His power-this is the first step.
   Without this step you will remain a mocker., unbeliever- blind to the truth of God's word, Son, authority, and lack spiritual discernment and the peace of God that passes all understanding. This isn't the will of God for you- His will is for you to know him without a shadow of a doubt.
   
   John 11:40--Then Jesus said, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?"
   
   John 20:29-Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
   
   Acts 2:32--God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact.
   
   Acts 5:32--We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."
   
   Rom 4:17 -As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed--the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.
   
   Rom 10:14-
   How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

   Because belief and faith in things you can't see gives you hope and let's you think the impossible is possible. Who would inspire artists and philosophers.     How many things would not be here today, if we didn't have the ability to beleive in something we couldn't see if we?   People need to believe in something bigger it inspires them it gets them through, tough times it gives them courage.    How many things have been invented in the name of God and even satan?  It saves some people from doing wrong and it's promise of reward spurs self sacrifice.  What a cold cruel world it would be thinking, " it doesn't matter, there's nothing more."  If people didn't believe in God, the suffering we witness today would be the lucky ones tomarrow.

   Well, you know there is no proof that atheism is more than a myth either.

   If it doesn't make any difference to you one way or another, what skin is it off your nose if people choose to believe in myths, fairy tales, superstitions, the supernatural or otherwise?  There's always the complaint about how people shove their beliefs down others' throats, but if they're not doing that, then what difference does it make to someone who doesn't believe that someone else does?

   What absolutely simplistic andsometmies moronic comments about Bible verses, if a person doesn't believe, all the Bible verses in the world won't make them.  Besides, belief in something outside ourselfs, seems to be almost hard wired into the brain.  There are some studies which show that there is even a certain section of the brain that is the exact location for the hard wiring, when discussing God or gods, that part of the brain is what lights up, those who have had traumatic accidents requiring the removal of it seem to change their world view, look up or google the "God part of the Brain"  there is book on it.

   Because a universe where we are all alone is hard to accept for many people.  No one to hear our prayers, and nowhere to go after we die, is quite horrifying.  So, people cling to childish hope, because it is all they have.  This is understandable, if not logical.  If we didn't have to die, then there would be no point to such beliefs, but as we do, such myths will remain.

    they don't want to feel foolish in knowing they were bamboozled to believe something that isn't real.  #Ego driven.....  plus I guess all of the drama gives them something to do, read as well as continuously research

    They want answers that the myths can provide. They want to believe in life after death. They want mystery and excitement. It's how they were raised. A million other answers.
    
    The simpler answer?
    Just because.

    It is because what is real to them appears mythical to you.
    They just have a different point of view. Some may have experience things you never did. Some believe they have experienced divine intervention, ghosts, UFOs and other things that you have not experienced.
    
    Feel free to keep your views on what are myths and feel free to change them once you have those strange experiences.
