This dilemma stemmed from Socrates and Euthypro's argument: "Are you loved by God because you are pious, or are you pious because you are loved by God?
First and foremost, I am not a "Bible person" nor can be considered well-versed on the contents of the Bible nor the teachings of the Church. But I can see that within this dilemma is the answer. We cannot be good if we are not continuously loved aside from the fact that humans are inherently good. We may be pious or not, stray from time to time from what we believe is good and true, but in the end, I believe, we will always go back to being good.
