I think - what matters most not only for me but also for entire human mankind is the art of living happy forever. Happiness is something which is beyond all other possessions- be it money, name, fame, momentarily pleasures and even fun. The secret is, which matters most is that HAPPINESS IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS!!!!

I like this question, in fact this was the question I had thought to post...any way; here's my answer. I can only speak for myself since this question calls for a personal and confidential answer...majority of people don't really know what matters most for them and there would be disagreements to answers, so ...what matters most for me is "Me, Myself,  and I" ...I know this sounds selfish but not really..."Me" here means...I take care of myself and take charge of my own life because nobody else can take care of me the way I can do it myself. "Myself" means...I can only be hurt by anyone and anything if I allow it....and "I" means...I know myself better than anyone else who are trying to measure me up...I know what I can do, give, and receive. "I am in total control of my being, doing, and having..." I cannot give what I don't have and I cannot pretend what I am not. Likewise, I cannot accept what doesn't fit me.

Depends on the context--but I think what matters most is for people to live their life to the full and for their intended purpose to be fulfilled.  To live and die with no regrets.  To meet your maker and for Him to say, "Well done."  Love--relationship--honesty--integrity--character.  These all matter.  And that's just the short version of an answer to this question.  :-)

Like all the answers given so far.   This thing called 'happiness' has always intrigued me.  Even wrote a book on it called, "Who Stole Your Happiness?" subtitle: "And how you can reclaim your rightful ownership."  All sorts of things come into the equation, not the least of which is having a life philosophy you can comfortably live with.

I won't tell you who stole your happiness, though.  You'll have to read the book to find that one out...or else devote a lot of serious time to the matter.

In the meantime...to quote the old chestnut - Be Happy!

When I reach this age, it will be my family and children.

We should be helping the next generations to survive in a better future. Stopping the oZone and whatever we are making the mistakes in the past to be corrected.

Let us seriously start thinking of GO GREEN.

It will help the environment as well as for every human beings living in this planet. We do not want to head for destruction of what we had done in the past and continue in this way.

It is time we start to think for our future generations and helping them to overcome our problems so they too can build their own families without worrying about the coming future.

I figure you take away your own happiness over time.
Jobs, responsibility, money, bills, relationships, health issues, life and death... These all contribute to forgeting that which is truly important.
    Just being happy!
    Laugh out loud....
    Fake it...
It will soon turn unto a real and enjoyable laugh..
One way to make yourself happy smile

Smile and the world smiles with you. Your life is a creation of your thoughts. Make them good ones.

Health and Happiness. If you have these two as a foundation, life can be greatly enjoyed.

I think genuine love matters most. It can overcome all of the other ills in this life.

This question is one I have pondered for many years.

I've always had a hard time narrowing it down to just one thing, other than to say that the Lord matters most, since this is His world and we, His creation. But assuming that as a given and looking to what matters most next to Him, to say just one thing is hard.

I think it is of extreme importance to live a life of integrity, to be true to who you are. To do that, you have to know yourself. That can take a lifetime, at least for some of us.

Being kind matters HUGELY to me, that *I* be kind.

Today my answer is, "Being faithful" ... because if I am true to myself, I would also be being kind, and be true to myself, as well as to my God.

Next week I might have a different answer!

Thank you all for your input!

What matter most? at this time of my life, what matter most to me is the feeling of satisfaction that I've done my part according to God's will.

well...what matters to me most is stability. Stable, peaceful life, career and you've pretty much got all else figured out you know.

what matters most is that you can look into the mirror every morning and say,
i like who i am, i will do one thing today that will make a difference in someone else's life, and i will tell no one i did it....

Family. Being away from my family leaves emptiness in my heart. We live far away from each other and dont get together very often. When we do we make the most of the short amount of time we have.
