Spiritual blessings, for me, are the greatest blessings that man can ever be grateful about in this life for my obedience, in these I experience true peace and joy in my heart and spirit, as all the rest are bonuses.

As in Matthew 6:33, http://bible.cc/matthew/6-33.htm, that we may seek God first and his righteousness that all other good things may come as blessings.

Seeing more converts in this life to what is true in the words of God and in the rejection of anything that may be evil in us are for me blessings in my life as I see the hands of God moving in my family as he takes care of us, in my community, in this nation, in my country and the whole world.

I may thank God for any material blessing but deep inside I know, all these belong to God as I belong to God, and using these material blessings for his greater glory is, as I believe, what pleases him most.

Many and numberless blessings for being obedient to God and His word. My marriage, my children, my health, my status, etc. I am blessed beyond measure is all I can say.

So many: peace of mind, difficult situations changed to my benefit, needs supplied, cooperation where I expected opposition, renewed hope for more answered prayers, among others.

In exchange for obedience, I receive peace of mind. This is a blessing not money can buy.

I serve in the nursing home ministry, and one day I had left to do something before we were to go and minister.  My partner and the head of the ministry called and said today was a special day, and we should wear ties.  I really didn't want to go all the way back home, and choke myself.  But, I did.  That day I had the privilege to lead someone to Christ.  I was glad for my obedience to the man, therefore I earned a crown from the Lord.

I think that when I'm obedient, my mind is more at peace with everything. It's that peace that passeth all understanding. And I think maybe the ability to feel that peace, or to recognize it , is also a gift . However, I've known many people in my life who were obedient and did not see many blessings in this life, outside of those inner blessings Christ gives. That is a lesson for me, that the blessings in this life are not necessarily a measure of our obedience on earth, but will be given in the next life.

I don't think I obey and receive blessings in exchange. Blessings aren't a currency, IMO. I live my life in grace, in harmony with myself, and thus with the Divine. I believe the Divine doesn't tell me to obey or even require me to do so, but allows me to freely decide to allow myself to actually be myself or not. And when I am Being, I am in accordance with the Divine, and know blessings.

Thanks to each of  you for sharing your wonderful, insightful comments. I do believe that blessings are connected to our obedience and your comments are so powerful. K12rswow, aren't you glad you didn't forfeit that wonderful opportunity to lead a soul to Jesus? Neil74, MsDora, and Grinnin1 isn't peace a beautiful gift that only God can give? Once you get it, you never want to live without it. Donnaisabella, you are right; when we really think about it - it's impossible to measure our blessings. How profound Irenamaria in that our children can be blessed because we are obedient and we teach them how to obey. Just as we reward our children for their obedience, so does our Heavenly Father. Edwinoel Tanglao, five words: Let the church say Amen!
