Hello Davenmidtown. The word for servent employed many times in the New Testament is 'doulos' in Greek. Doulos literally translates slave. Jesus Christ is Lord (Acts 2:36). The word for Lord is 'Adonai' in Hebrew, and litterally means master. In Greek it is 'Kurios' which can be translated master, owner, or deity. The New Testament calls us all to submit to the Lordship of our Risen Savior. This call puts us in direct relation to Him as slaves, bought with the precious blood of Christ (1 Corinthians 6:20). Praise God that He counts us worthy to be called His slaves. Thank you for your inquiry.
