In our modern progressive society; is virginity still relevant

We still get married in white, even when the happy couple has lived together or were previously married. I thought the white dress was once a sign of purity and virginity.

To loose virginity before marriage is not a sign of progressive society.I call it degradation of noble human values cherished by our forefathers since centuries.

if the Word of God is still relevent so is virginity.  It's a matter of personal lifestlye.
Whatever you sow into will produce its own harvest or like my mother used to say if you make your bed you have sleep in it.

A girl (woman) maintaining her virginity until after marriage is only relevant to those who pass judgments on others.  The only thing that truly has any relevance are the vows that are made between two people who wish to spend their lives together.
There should be no dishonesty or deceit between two people who make vows to each other for fidelity.  Prior sexual activity has no bearing on anything anymore.  Over the years, i have seen those who chose to "save themselves" until after marriage end up in divorce because they were sexually incompatible after they were married.  This is a realistic fact.  Sexual compatibility is one of the most intimate and important factors between two people.  If either partner is not completely satisfied the odds of extramarital affairs is significantly high.   (Like buying a pair of shoes that hurt your feet every time you wear them - would you simply keep on wearing those shoes just because someone else told you you must?)
One would never buy a pair of shoes to wear continuously unless they have tried them on before they bought them.  We want those shoes to fit our feet perfectly before buying them.   NO one buys a 'pig in a poke' anymore except in the elective process of our politicians.  And we all have seen the disasters that arose from buying those 'pigs in a poke".
Religious views are old, tired, stagnant, and regressive in nature.  These old views should be left in the past where they belong.
God created sexuality, and spoke nothing about it in respect to being good or evil. Those attributes were placed on human behavior by other humans, and no human has the authority to place judgmental restrictions on another.
