'It's mine, it's mine,' screams the toddler refusing to share his tomatoes with his friends.
'Share them, share them,' begs the mother, anxious to bring up a generous child.
But as each year passes, Mum has to introduce her toddler to the thought that some things are permissible to own, possess and not share.
Next time the now rich child drives through a puddle in his Rolls and sprays you with mucky water, think of the confused and screaming child within who has been taught to be both generous and selfish. And then hand him back his five dollars when it slips from his pocket.
