Virtuous1, I like what Joyce Meyer says: There's a difference between your who and your do! No one follows God one hundred per cent. Jesus was the only human being who did that and His righteousness was given to us to replace our unrighteousness. So of course I don't live up to all the Bible says I should be. But what I do is, forgetting what lies behind and straining toward what is ahead, to take hold of that for which Christ took hold of me. Nothing can snatch me out of the Father's hand, so while I seek to follow Him every day, I don't worry about doing it perfectly. Perfect Love casts out fear. There are those who profess to be Christians but are really not, they will be shown for what they are. If not here then at the Judgment. The question is often asked, If you were to die tonight and stand before God, and He asked you, Why should I let you into My Heaven? What would you say? If their answer is, I was a good person, I tithed, I helped the poor, I never lied or stole or committed adultery, or I'm not as bad as some people, I never killed anyone (that didn't deserve it). If you give any other answer, other than, I am fully trusting in Jesus and His shed blood for the payment for my sin, I stand in His righteousness because I have no righteousness of my own, God will say, Depart from Me, I never knew you. Thanks for a great question!
