Do you desire to know and please God? Why?

I am asking all non Christians to give me their opinion. I am especially interested in what those people who have no particular spirituel affiliation have to say. I am asking for your honest opinion.

I've met God, and I really like him. Even before I met Him, the idea that there was someone out there who made everything and everybody because he was full of Love and it burst forth sounded pretty cool. Now, I was a geek and a scientist. But, still, whether God is seen as a person who loves everyone, or as an all-encompassing Creative Power, wouldn't it be cool to experience that. So I learned meditation to get a bit of peace of mind, and I got a whole lot more. I met the Mind of Peace and Love.

Now that I've met Peace and Love, sure, I want to know him better!

This is how I went from agnostic scientist to spiritual practictioner, to spiritual practitioner and religious leader helping build respect and cooperation among people of many faiths.

      Sidkemp:
Thanks for sharing you perspective. I am putting you down as a maybe since you are unable to determine if God is a actual being with character and independent thought or a force. I respect your views and wish you the very best this life has.

I clearly experience God as both personal & also as the Universal Creator of all. Or, in Christian Terms, I believe in God the Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth, God the Son, Christ, and the Holy Spirit.& I work to know & please God eac

Hmm, interesting, most people who do believe in God has some kind of spiritual affiliation even if it is a loose connection.  I like my Hare Krishna friends and we read the Bhagavad-Gita and the Srimad Bagavatam, the scriptures of our tradition.  In those books God is described as a person. Name, form, friends, activities, and preferences are there.
I am not here to say it it better that anyone else's belief but I will say from my studies, analysis, and comparing of different traditions, the information presented I find fascinating.

    Best wishes.

    DR

I can and do appreciate that you enjoy your Hare Krishna friends and their holy book. But I am asking about your motivation. Do you do these things out a desire to know and please God, is it to be socially connected, or is it just simply an interest?
