Do you desire to know and please God? Why?
I am asking all non Christians to give me their opinion. I am especially interested in what those people who have no particular spirituel affiliation have to say. I am asking for your honest opinion.
I've met God, and I really like him. Even before I met Him, the idea that there was someone out there who made everything and everybody because he was full of Love and it burst forth sounded pretty cool. Now, I was a geek and a scientist. But, still, whether God is seen as a person who loves everyone, or as an all-encompassing Creative Power, wouldn't it be cool to experience that. So I learned meditation to get a bit of peace of mind, and I got a whole lot more. I met the Mind of Peace and Love.
Now that I've met Peace and Love, sure, I want to know him better!
This is how I went from agnostic scientist to spiritual practictioner, to spiritual practitioner and religious leader helping build respect and cooperation among people of many faiths.
Sidkemp:
Thanks for sharing you perspective. I am putting you down as a maybe since you are unable to determine if God is a actual being with character and independent thought or a force. I respect your views and wish you the very best this life has.
I clearly experience God as both personal & also as the Universal Creator of all. Or, in Christian Terms, I believe in God the Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth, God the Son, Christ, and the Holy Spirit.& I work to know & please God eac
OK Cool, then that is a yes. Thanks for the clarification.
Hmm, interesting, most people who do believe in God has some kind of spiritual affiliation even if it is a loose connection. I like my Hare Krishna friends and we read the Bhagavad-Gita and the Srimad Bagavatam, the scriptures of our tradition. In those books God is described as a person. Name, form, friends, activities, and preferences are there.
I am not here to say it it better that anyone else's belief but I will say from my studies, analysis, and comparing of different traditions, the information presented I find fascinating.
Best wishes.
DR
I can and do appreciate that you enjoy your Hare Krishna friends and their holy book. But I am asking about your motivation. Do you do these things out a desire to know and please God, is it to be socially connected, or is it just simply an interest?

I recently joined the gofundme website, in hopes to get donations to save my house. But, I have been on there for almost 3 months, and have not received a dime. I also looked at some of the other things people are asking for. Like one family got over $5,000 to find their dog, and another girl got...

We all know how it feels when we lose an opportunity that could change our life. I know people who repent throughout life because they didn't complete their education, which in the end forced them to accept a 'lower' form of employment. Deep in their heart they know that they 'deserved' something...

I recently saw a question posted with a side note: for believers only. I know there are a variety of religious people on the hub, and I do not have a problem with it. It is your right to believe how you want. But isn't hubpages a forum that is open to all members? Personally, I find it very...

If God asked you to play the role of a demon would you?I was told we came from the spiritual word and we chose to be here to learn how to please God. My question is if you were in the spiritual world with God and it really was God you were asked to come to this planet to play the role of a...

One of the benefits of being a genuine Christian is having a personal relationship with Jesus where we not only know God’s mind through the scripture but also hear his still or even audible voice in some cases. This still voice can be in the form of an impression or thoughts. Other times God...
