   Why do so many people look to people for answers that people don't have?
   
   "What does God look like?" type of questions really concern me. Which do you find more concerning...the one who asks the question or the one who answers like they know?

   It is our curiosity that helps the world improves. Lives are better when we start questioning and in search of what we yet to learn.
   
   If everyone does not question for answers then it will come to a time when nothing will be changed for the better. Through questioning for answers, we act on it.

   I am not concerned when people ask difficult questions like what does God look like.  I could refer them to the Srimad Bagavatam (ancient Indian text).  That book has a description of God, heavenly realms and other such thing. I would be up to them to believe it or not. 
   
   Besides according to the definition of God, God could look like anything at any given time.  So maybe some people have the answer for that particular time place and circumstance.  It is not up to me to say if they are right or wrong.  That would be between them and God.
   
   Now if some asked what do I look like I would just send them my picture and call it a day.  Maybe God like to play with our minds. Who knows.

   For ignorance. They are not even bothered to think particularly about their own question whether they really want the answers or not. They simply try to question without going deep into it. Else they would not have looked for the answers among people ignorant themselves.

   Questions! The efforts to find out answer to the  question that may from one's own mind or from a group, or from the people, are the 'reformation' factor in this world. This,say as the interaction between people.Discus..discuss..discuss.A concrete answer will get. In science, in philosophy  and so, giving experimental answers,by this process. So it is worth well to welcome question and answers.

   The question is somewhat rhetorical.  The answer to the question "Why do so many people look to people for answers that people don't have?", is implied in the question.  Saying that "people" do not have the answer, implies that someone (not a typical person ) does have the answer.  The answer lies outside the realm of human understanding.

   Questions such as this are asked by people who are searching.  Many times there is a longing in the heart for something only God can provide.  All people have faith and they have an inherent need to exercise that faith.  Sadly they often put their faith in men who are so prone to let them down.

   Some people do have answers, yet all cannot be answered and we who are Christians, depend upon our faiths to see us through the hard times. I like he picture of Christ in your work and to me it represents the second coming of Christ Jesus and in power, and as a great warrior of God. I can see the Lord on a white horse leading his army against all evil and wielding a powerful sword of justice. We may all be a member of a church or not, yet we as Christians make our own decisions to follow and live in the way of Christ Jesus and all have control of their own thoughts, not one who pretends to know it all or claims to be the one true spokesperson for the Lord. Only the Lord can do this. We were given a brain and intellect and the ability to use this in our decisions.

   there were many things throughout history that no one at the time had answers for that we now do. for instance, in the 18th or 19th century, a doctor figured out why so many babies and moms died at hospitals and he started washing his hands between patients. 10 years before that, not one person new the answer to the question. the only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

      I see where you're coming from and agree to an extent but feel you missed the mark here. There is a big difference between these types of questions and those of faith and beliefs.

   I think the one who answers like they know would scare me more.  Lots of people who are unsaved have a real mocking attitude towards God.  They don't realize that they have to give an account for every word that they say on Judgment Day.

    To answer your core question: We want answers to what we don't know from curiosity. But we need answers from insecurity or fear. And we turn to other people for answers because we are all taught, from an early age, to look outside ourselves for answers.
    
    With regard to your details. I feel some hope for those who ask, because, perhaps, they will be willing to turn inwards and discover their truth. I feel great sadness about those who claim to answer. Those who have truly awakened to inner truth know that our own answer is for ourselves alone, and each person must make the inward journey.
    
    One way to help people turn inwards is to gently question their question. This is what I might do if someone genuinely asked, "What does God look like?" I might say, "What makes you think that God looks one way or another? Couldn't he look any way he wants to? And wouldn't he look whatever way would most inspire love, devotion, and right action?" For someone ready for the inward journey, I might say, "Meet him and see what he looks like! He's right inside you!"

    I guess I just feel it's a bit naive to ask a question LIKE this of a man. It can only be answered in faith and faith can only withstand from within ones self. On the other hand, it seems dangerously bold to stand on faith and tell others the way it IS.
