I don't know if you intended it or not, but it sounds like you're implying feminism is a bad thing. The feminist movement is all about equal treatment for everyone, regardless of gender, so even if they did have this in mind, I don't think it would be a negative. The story in question, about them not doing enough to denounce abortion and gay-marriage just highlights how disconnected the Vatican is from what's happening on the ground. Should a nun turn away someone who is looking for help, even though they are gay or have had an abortion? If Jesus's message was really to help others, then I don't think it benefits the church to be discriminatory. Nuns understand this, but I don't think the men in their golden city do.
