Do you think it is possible that Jesus appeared to other cultures in different forms?

Yes, I do. I have never been a person that wants to limit God in any form. Why else would God create so many different cultures if he was only going to come to save a few?

culture also creates war. Why would a god of love want, or otherwise enable, war over equally valid viewpoints?

Absolutely. After all, we know a tiny very little bit about the true nature of God and His plan for all of humanity. We know what He tells us in the Bible, but we don't know what He didn't tell us! And I'm sure He has revealed Himself in every way, shape and form throughout the ages. That is one thing I want to know someday.Good question

I don't think this is the answer you want but some folks in Japan think that Jesus Christ went to Japan - but I don't think it's a real belief. I read the book "The Jewish and Alien Heritage of Ancient Japan" by James Oda & I believe it to be a , Tondemo which means "outrageous" or "preposterous" - sort of like the movie "Innocence of Muslims" movie. The book was insulting the Emperor blood line.

    http://voices.yahoo.com/the-jewish-alie … 63250.html

But then googled this : The Japanese Jesus trail - news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/from_our_own.../5326614.stm

" ... after escaping Jerusalem, Jesus made his way across Russia and Siberia to Aomori in the far north of Japan.

But what I think you meant was Jesus incognito. Like Buddha in India. I would put Ghandi right up there with Buddha & Jesus. I wonder what other Peaceful Revolutionaries there are in history.

Gandhi and Buddha were great spiritual leaders, but I'm not sure either of them could walk on water. Buddha seems to have become enlightened (removed ego), and Gandhi may have

My question is did Jesus present Himself in other forms....like Buffalo Calf Woman who came to the Lakota People...for example.  Not so much was he incognito....but did He change forms and cultures gave Him different names and so on.

Absolutely. God is all, to everyone. To me, that indicates He is whatever He needs to be to anyone at any time. I believe His message remains the same each time, but how we as mortals receive it is our issue. Far too often, we receive it in a short-sighted manner, and choose to compartmentalize it into our chosen religion, excluding others in order to feel superior. My stance for years has been that God made man, man made religion. I fear that somewhere above all of this and us, He weeps for the beauty and message that has been bestowed upon us, and we have failed Him in its implementation.

    I think it's possible.

Look at those who give us the same message.

I also wonder if Buddha has returned on occasion to help out in the overall rescue mission. And where is the soul that was Gandhi? Could he be among us helping in the days leading up to the storm? Quite possible.

I sincerely believe that Buddha was following Christ. So was Lao Tsu. For what is "following Christ," but adhering to the teachings based upon love and ridding self of the "ego self."

I think that Jesus and his angels have been showing up to different individuals in history. If you look at the Koran and the Bible, they are remarkably similar. However, then look at the times and culture they were written in. The Bible was writting during a depressing time with violence, death, and cultural shunning. Where the Koran was written during a time of educational flurishing, enjoyment, and happiness. Both say God loves us and yet calls him a God of wrath. Still, the Koran only mentions him as a God of wrath 17 times, and a God of love 198 times.
Then also take into account the few children who have died in hospitals only to be brought back to life because of our new medicine abilities. The three I focus on talk of God, seeing the future, meeting family members, telling doctors and family members what they were doing during the surgery from an out-of-body experience, etc.
There are a lot of signs, but not true hard evidence.

Great information.  Thanks for the comments The question is about Jesus...did he come in other forms to other people...say for example, was it His spirit that was Buffalo Calf Woman who came to the Lakota People?  I know God is everywhere.

It is probably his angels. They say that the next time Jesus will return to earth, it will not be a fun trip.

Good point Iburmaster...okay....Do you think God sent more than just His only Son, to other cultures to lead to a righteous path?

Definately. If you look at the religions of different cultures, many recurring stories and theories appear. And I am not one to believe in random similarities.

Yes..I once read an account from Native Americans that told of a man in white robes with tiny blue crosses on the hymn, who came to them in a time of great need in the tribes and offered comfort and wise teaching among the people there. The Native people were so adamant and sincere about this visitor and called him as the wakan tanka, or translated as the Great Spirit. This was to have occurred hundreds of years after Christ was crucified and rose again and told to this day by many Native American tribes across the North American Continent.

Could it have been a re-incarnation or Jesus?

I think if he did than he was incredibly cruel.

Why show up in different forms, speaking different languages, giving different rules, different morals, and different ideologies?

If you wanted peace, and you had unimaginable power, would you really call yourself by different names telling each group they were correct for thinking themselves superior to the others?

Would  you author or otherwise play muse to holy books that proscribe death to non-believers, if the non-believers were also told they were in fact the correct ones in their own holy books?

Jesus never told anyone to think themselves superior to anyone else, nor did most religions, it is their followers (for Christianity most notably the crusades and the catholic church) that spread that message.

Hi Max, Try Mathew 10: 5 or 10:33 or 12:30. Or really just any of the gospels. He does say that, just as the Koran says making slaves of infidels is justified. Just a modern copout to just blame the church members and not the non sense its based on.

Yes. I believe it is definitely possible.

Appearance is just a form where it allows us to view. Jesus can appear in any form where we can accept the look. Jesus can be among us in our daily lives.

I'm not a religious person so I'd say no, however every culture has their wise men, Jesus, Moses, Mohammed, Siddhartha Gautama, and Confucius are just some of the more well known ones.

As the Latter-day -saint church believes, that Jesus came here to visit the Native Americans, teaching them the gospel, I believe he could do this for all nations, kindred and tongues.

I Love this question because I believe it is definitely possible, not just in other cultures but different ages. Could it be that there was one who came to us in each age as the same spirit but a different body? There are many possibilities like some of the great spiritual leaders throughout history. In India they believe in Shiva and Ganesha, in China there was Guan Shi Yin, then you have Enoch, Thoth and I believe there are many more. The thing is, if this were also true, imagine Jesus was here now in a different body?
