Do you believe in kharma, why or why not?
Most societies believe in kharma. The basic saying goes this way "Do not do unto others what you do not want others to do unto to you".
No I don't believe in karma, or that treating people the way you want to be treated always works. Why because there is plenty of evidence to the contrary, plenty of good people have bad things happen to them, there is no rhyme or reason.
There is no formula to a blissful existence, meaningful life, life is what you make it, mixed with the good and the bad.
Is it really so important to believe that bad things will happen to bad people, chances are their life is already hard, and they have been through the ringer many times.
I understand being a good person we want to believe good things alone will happen to us, however it's not the way the world works.
It is about you manage your lot in life, and your attitude towards it.
Yes, I certainly do. I believe we reap what we sow. If we sow hatred, ugliness, etc. this is what we will reap. If we sow compassion, love, etc. this is what we will reap. The golden rule is the best rule to live by.
Agree with you JThomp42. However, many who believe in the Laws of Karma (the balancing out) also believe in Reincarnation, so merits or debts acrued in one life might be worked out in a future life or even lifetimes.
I believe in Karma & Merits. It is said that if you do someone wrong, you will receive the effect thereafter. I remembered when I was young, I was making bad remarks about someone and later I suffered the consequences.
Whether you believe it or not, it exists and will happen unto you when the time comes.
I read about it here - http://www.donations-blessing-tibetan-k … karma.html
Sometimes you can immediately experience or witness the balancing out of Kharma, other times it takes years and, other times - if one believes in Reincarnation, lifetimes.
Yes in the sense that people will mirror your response to them. Throw around malice and negativity and more of the same is likely to follow you. Smile and, surprising as it seems, people tend to smile back.

I've found in my personal life that when I get my house blessed bad things seem to happen that makes things almost unbearable. It's a common motif on programs on hauntings. Why?
