How could I forget Childhood's end? Reminded, I vividly remember reading it in junior high . . . great novel.

Radio plays are gone and I don't listen to the radio at all, but radio can more exciting sometimes - the less you see, the more is left to the imagination.

I can't really throw anything at you, least of all science fiction novels, but you can try Jules Vern or Gulliver's Travels. Or The Island of Dr. Moreau. I am not a big fan of science fiction per se, but there is something to it.
