   Had to check this one out as I'm not that conversant with the Christian Bible.   It had to be looked at in context, I thought.  So what does it say?   I'm looking at an old King James edition of the Good Book.   It says:  "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."   So he was saying, in effect, 'If you believe in God then you will be okay because I am God - or the Son of God.'
   
   He continues on:  "In my Father's house there are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you."
   
   Now, I doubt he is talking about mansions in our modern sense of that word, a big house.   My interpretations is that Jesus is referring to the many 'dimensions' or 'worlds' within the multitude of parallel universes that lie beyond the grave.   He is saying, in effect.  Stop worrying.  You are all immortal beings.

      I agree with Born2care2001. Even though Tusitala says that he is not conversant with the Christian Bible, he knew that the statement must looked at in context and he took the trouble to read the King James edition! That's real wisdom in action!!!

   Worry is the human response to most of the issues in our world right now, but worry can kill as certainly as the issues themselves.  Jesus counseled us to refrain from worrying (the state of troubled hearts). He went on to say, "Believe in God."   God is Omnipotent and if we abide in Him, we can have inner peace and have a good night's rest.

   Jesus said that because once you are saved you are no longer of this world but a step closer to Heaven. Faith and believing in the Lord's plan is what should keep you going in times of despair. Witnessing for Jesus's cause and keeping his command "Love each other" and your heart will not be troubled.You should look towards the next life you've been promised by keeping the faith.

    There is a famous situation in the Old Testament in which a surrounding cohort of Fighting Angels is revealed to a terrified and troubled Righteous Warrior.  The prayer is given that this man be able to see the REAL opponents and friends arrayed in the field of battle.
    
    People of Faith, (and I mean that broadly) need to realize that the REAL participants in life's challenges and conflicts are arrayed at psychological, spiritual, mental levels, and that we have more friends that we think we do, and that the isolated trembling heart that is in all of us is actually tied into a magnificent circuitry of protection, guidance, love, alliance and mercy.   When we see and IMAGINE all of these factors arrayed in our favor, we can understand when Jesus said:  "Let not your Heart be troubled..."

    Why waste our time with trouble and worry, I believe this was His point.  Rather surrender all concerns and trials and trust in Him in all things. His timing is not ours and we must be mindful of that in prayer.  Prayerful consideration and attention to His word, will quiet our hearts and minds as He reveals Himself in any circumstance.   Patience is difficult yet rewarding when we are able to accomplish the calm in this chaotic world.  Peace
