Can visualizing something you don't want to happen cause it to manifest?

example: watching a plane flying through the sky and then visualizing the worst thing you could think of happening to it, in great detail, though not actually WANTING it to happen. THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE

I would venture a guess and conclude no it cannot; however, it is simply because I have no proof of this. However if you are in delta wavelength sleep you may be subject through awareness to some foresight...

I think your question relates to having an imagination, to thinking, or worrying.  I have this philosophy that if you worry about something, how do you know that it doesn't promote the occurrence?  Likewise, thinking positive may render good things to happen.  As parents, we sometimes imagine the worse things as our children grow, but those thoughts come from imagination and I think because we love our children so much.  I think when you visualize anything in your mind, it is a product of your mind.

Ponder first absolutes. Then wonder a bit and a byte. Be aware of the theory of chaos. Next, a butterfly yesterday in Argentina may be the cause of what you visualized and did occur. Speculate further which flutter of those series of flutters of that butterfly in Argentina inspired you as the visualizer to ponder first, wonder next, dream a tiny bit, and then visualize an affect of, and then see the effect of when, yet all occurred after a butterfly fluttered in Argentina.

Ponder. That butterfly passed through four separate stages of life: egg - caterpillar - cocoon as metamorphosis - a butterfly first filling its wings with liquid, and then flutters a first followed by a more than. And, then, ponder, the butterfly that laid that egg.

It is better to visualise the aeroplane completing its voyage safely rather then visualise something negative.  It is always better to make positive visualisations - 'Night and day I am becoming fit and healthy.  Rather than along the lines - Night and day, I no longer have ill health.  You are putting the idea then of good health rather than poor health to your subconcious.

Sometimes we feel so. But I dont think that it actually happens. Its all the worries that make us think in this manner.

Toying with Telekinesis are we?  I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. However, in our personal lives such visualizations can have dramatic effects.  Many years ago I learned to visualize, in detail, completing a difficult task before beginning said task.  Whether it was a test at school or a hard days work this type of mental training can be very effective if done positively. The flip side of the coin is, if you visualize negative results, then you've trained your mind to fail.  So stay positive, think positive, and all your outcomes will be positive.

When it comes to your own body, not a situation, yes I believe you can think about something so much that it happens. I am talking mainly health or body image related things.

I have heard some preacher say that what you picture inside your mind is what you will see in reality. Job in the HOLY BIBLE said, that what he feared has come upon him.

    Thanks for asking.
