Do you really believe we're going to see other dead people when we die?
Yes because I believe the Biblical teachings that only the body dies but the spirit lives on. Where we meet and the type of people we meet depends on where we end up - Heaven or Hell.
Since there is no evidence, whatsoever, of any kind of afterlife, it would be logical to assume that the answer to your question is NO. Believing that we will resurrect after death into a mythical spiritual realm is all wishful thinking...
Wishful thinking, brought on by our emotional inability to accept our deaths as final...and our refusal to deal with saying good-bye...forever...to people we cant bear to lose.
I'm happy for people to believe in anything as long as it doesn't impinge negatively on my lifestyle. At the present time I don't believe in any afterlife or a world where formerly dead people are still alive but sincerely hope that my atoms and dark matter are recycled into something rather beautiful, like a new star in the Crab Nebula or a hoverfly or even a chestnut horse or an alien from planet Xenon. If I'm conscious when this happens - fantastic, if not, I won't know anything about it so won't be too disappointed!
No. I don't know what will happen, but I don't think we'll exist like that.
I certainly believe I did. I was comatose for a month in 2003 after a brain bleed. I was pronounced brain-dead at Florida Hospital Altamonte and eventually transferred to a higher level hospital where I was coincidentally placed in the room beside my best friend and fellow hockey player, Don (gladiator) Elderdice. That is after 4 days of being most wonderfully prodded and beaten by Orderlies to elicit some small response to provide proof I could have a chance at recovery; otherwise the machine would have been turned off at the end of the fourth day. No matter, we both survived unrelated comatose experiences with full recoveries. I am not here to prove or convince anyone that it indeed happens to all; I can only speak of my recollections from my "journey to the other side." During my comatose experience I believe I saw many and in particular 2 that I seemed to know yet could not discern their identity. As I awakened in my hospital room I looked towards my better half and said, "is it ok if I go back!" Was I really saying to my better half? I think otherwise... Believe what you must.
I would like to believe it is true because I would like to see my mother, my grandparents, my brother and cousins who died before me. I believe that the spirit of the dead will go somewhere whether heaven or hell after we die. Because I already seen a woman with white dress that is like floating when she was walking towards our kitchen when I was about 8 or 9 years old about midnight and the room where we were sleeping like lit up bright then when this woman with white dress reached the kitchen, she disappeared and the room became dark all of a sudden. I was not asleep but my Mum and brothers were all asleep. I was so frightened covering my head with blanket.
I believe we'll interact with other souls. Our dead body will not be there with us. We will no longer need it.

Where does someone like me, with psychic ability, fit into Christianity? Do you think I am evil?I believe in God & Jesus & God's Holy Spirit. But I was born psychic. I see dead people and I talk to dead people. It is a God-given ability. I help people. Yet I cannot label myself as...

How do atheists fight depression? This is a legitimate question. I'm an atheist and I find that when I start to think about death and the sheer vastness of the universe, I get overwhelmed. The birth and death of the earth (and the human race) is so quick and insignificant in the grand scheme of...

For the very many years I was in Church attendance, the Kingdom of God was always equated with Heaven. It was a future event that only those who believed in Jesus would see either when they died or were raptured, whilst the remainder of humanity would go to hell. A Christian could be disqualified...
