Kylyssa Shay says
Thumbs up on every point here kylyssa.
So your answer to this"Q&A"is NO! Christians only should be mocked publicly as they are worse than Satanists or Muslims&their bad behavior justifies you performing the same bad behavior toward them. So atheists are no different than Christian
And as usual, tsadjatko proves that s/he is incapable of both human emotion and human rationality.
Have you ever heard of the term "martyr complex?"
Guess we will ignore that Kylyssa said if muslims, santanists etc started doing the same things, there would be equal opposition for them as well.
No, lets just focus on the christian parts and their convenient relevance to the goal of this question.
Not one of the atheists organizations use Kylyssa's reasoning to justify the billboards they put up. Their justification is solely that they claim they are telling people the truth, there is no God. So why not pick on Muslims or other religions?
Because that's like living in a vegan neighborhood and complaining about how the local Denny's uses preservatives in their burgers--it's irrelevant.
Unless you have statements from all atheist organizations, i doubt you can say that is their sole purpose.
Your backyard is on fire at the same time as the amazon forest. I would assume you would take care of the closer more prominent problem first.
U're right link, there are secondary reasons like to encourage atheists to come out but they are all based, according to these organizations. on the one. BTW I thought atheists use reason or logic, not emotions like Kylyssa, for their motivation.
I guess i missed the part of her comment that led to emotion based motivation. What part is it?
The atheist signs tend to say things meaning 'you're wrong' or 'we deserve to exist without being bothered.' The Christian signs say things that mean all non-Christians are evil. There's a big difference between 'you're mistaken' and 'you're evil.'
Kylyssa, name one national Christian organizations/denomination that spends money on the kind of signs you describe opposed to all the atheist organizations eg http://atheists.org/activism/billboards.& RealChristians don't spit on people.

Condescension?not becoming on you,but it says alot.Duh, I never heard of those religions, duh, throw them in the mix, then tell me where & when you witnessed TAUNTING of Muslims like the pic I posted by the atheist FreedomFromReligionFoundation
Chris Mills says
Well Cam I'd have to say it does answer. You CAN tune into NPR & choose to listen to Sam Harris, but when I drive through New York City at Xmas I don't see giant advertisements like the one I pictured taunting Muslims, or any other religion do you
Sorry, I didn't mean to ignore a direct question. I don't see any giant ads in NYC because I don't live there or even visit.

Ah so I assume the fact that there are 1.6 billion Muslims, or 23% of the world's population, making Islam the second-largest religion means nothing to atheists? and you haven't answered the question at all.
Zelkilro, you are right that Christianity in a western society would be the primary focus of atheists. That would be a reasonable approach.
So you agree with Ziekiro's answer which actually admits that atheists single out Christianity solely for political reasons, not philosophical. Cam I thought you were more tolerant than that.
I have no clue where you are going with this. I simply think it is a reasonable expectation that atheists would focus on the predominant religion in their region of the world. You only asked about what we have observed and I told you.
My point cam is that atheist organizations wantyou to believe they attack Christianity on the basis that it is not true, God doesn't exist, but in reality as Zeikiro stated, it is because they "dictate government decisions." That is political.
I'm surprised at u Wikipediaman (you know who u are) There are atheists billboards aimed at Muslims and Jews. http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/03/01/atheist-g... That's why I asked.
Political reasons are logical and practical reasons when the political results affect your life. Being against the use of religion to hurt people and to gain power through control and oppression is a philosophical position.
