Do you believe in ghosts or spirits?

Have you ever had a spiritual experience with something like a ghost? Handles moving, people talking who aren't there, coins showing up in random places, ghosts appearing in photos? Has anyone had any experiences like these or similar? Do you think this belief has a connection with your religious beliefs or lack of religious beliefs? If you've had these experiences, what does it mean to be a ghost?

No I have not; however, my grandfather and several of his crew did. He was Captain of his schooner out of Nova Scotia. He was driving to the harbor along the shoreline road where his ship was anchored when he and the woman with him were flagged down by a familiar guy with a lantern. He stopped realized it was a spirit/apparition and drove on to the harbor. When he got there his schooner was missing. He and some of his crew found the scuttled ship floating directly off the place where they saw the spirit. Two of his crew had drowned and the spirit was one of them...

I wonder how many souls of downed ships are circulating the Earth right now. Do you think souls can stick around water or do they stay on land?

Different cultures always interest me, I'm happy to see that American are not the only ones who believe in ghosts and spirits.

I've encountered some form of beings about 3 times in my life. I was not expecting them at all.
They were unseen but i knew they were there. its quite hard to describe that i was staring at a black space yet i knew there was something there staring back at me. When it wants you to know its there, it will make sure it happens.
First time was in the living room of our old house. I felt it ... "felt" like a female ... height about 5ft 2inches, average build. she moved very fast, and moved about 4 times in the different places of the room. it ended up in between me and the computer screen. i felt an energy in my scalp (like the hair standing up) and i could no longer see what was written on the computer screen which was 1foot away from me. it followed me to the bedroom as i lay on the bed i noticed the mattress depress next to me. said a prayer and opened my eyes ... it was gone.
in the next few days I saw my dad get out of bed once and he walked passed me and went out through the window... i shook my head and looked back and saw my dad was still sound asleep.

Second time i was going upstairs in the same house for a smoke and as soon as i turned into the corridor i felt 6 of them get up and leave while brushing against my arms (3 on each side). I was scared but then thought what the heck... i need to smoke.

third time was in a different country ... i was living alone and hadn't used the bedroom next door for a while. my friend had a key and he must have come in the room for something ... i noticed the light was left on so went to switch it off ... before switching it off i saw the window was open so went to close the window and on the way i bumped into another scalp feeling and there he was a 6ft 2in heavy built figure who i could not see but sense was staring back at me. he changed positions after about 5 seconds of me staring at him ... and i knew exactly where he moved to. i stepped out asking him to politely to leave the house. this was the most challenging one because i had to sleep all alone in that house for another 3 weeks.
I knew they were the jinn ... i have written a hub about them if you're interested.

It's interesting to read all of these comments. I think I have felt something a few times, but nothing to alarm me as in your stories! I think I might check it out, thank you!
