The Bible consists of different dispensations and we currently live under the dispensation of "Grace!" The Old Testament prophesied the coming of Jesus (Jesus concealed). He came in New Testament "fulfilling" Old Testament (Jesus revealed). If "fulfilled," why return to the 613 "laws" God knew we could not keep?
Until His coming, all were under "law." Galatians 3:23-25 says "But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore, the law was our "schoolmaster" to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith is come, we are no longer under a "schoolmaster." Therefore, the Old Testament is for "beginner's in Christ" with the intent of condemnation and a preparatory discipline which has been "fulfilled!"
According to Scripture, we, as believers, should be "growing" and not "returning" to previous dispensations or did Christ die in vain?
ALL Scripture (both Old Testament and New Testament) is "inspired by God" (II Timothy 3:16) and should NOT be considered "irrelevant!" However, since OT has been "fulfilled" (if one has faith), why return to "sacrifices, laws and works?"
I guess we are tired of hearing this and do not realize the fact that Satan loves it when we do not "continue" (as Scripture did) to "study" and "GROW" (not returning to previous dispensations since we are no longer "beginners in Christ" and OT has been fulfilled) and we should "...press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ" (Philippians 3:14). II Corinthians 3:18 says that we "...are changed into the same image from "glory to glory..." "growing" and not "returning" to Scripture that has been fulfilled!
But is this not Satan's job "To kill, steal and destroy?" (John 10:10). Be not deceived! Christ has died, sent us the Comforter (Holy Spirit) to teach and guide us (John 14:26; 16:13) and left instructions sent via the Holy Spirit (Jesus) through the apostles (Acts 2:42) for us to receive salvation. Galatians 1:6-9 says "If ANYONE teaches any other gospel (other than the gospel of Christ given by the Holy Spirit (Jesus) to the apostles) LET HIM BE ACCURSED!"
Revelations 21:12 says " And the wall of the city had twelve "foundations," and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb." Should we not build upon that foundation which is Jesus (Holy Spirit)?
We should live in the "current" dispensation & "GROW!"
