Is Divorce allowed in the Christian Faith?
Would if the spouse is abusive?
Really, it is not. Jesus says that anyone who puts his wife aside and marries another is committing adultery, and the new wife is also committing adultery. Unless the wife cheats on him. However, spousal abuse is just not tolerable.
What about "the husband?" Always the woman?
"Spousal abuse" wouldn't have happened if "IN THE LORD!"
Catholism; the first Christian religion did not allow divorce; a King named Henry Viii decreed a new religion with the King of England at its head instead of the Pope so he could divorce, kill his wife and marry another to have a son and Tudor heir.
Yes I belief it is. The Greek word used for adultery in Matt 5:32, Mark10:11-12, Luke 16:18 is the word "porneo" which actually has many meanings, some of them refer to abandonment, habitual abusiveness, infidelity and failure to provide support; all of which are considered a breaking of the marriage covenant.
So yes, if a spouse is an abuser, divorce is an acceptable if not a preferable choice to remaining in that situation.
Why they should've been "IN THE LORD" & would've had no desire for things mentioned!

This article is the best answer I have found on the subject. This is a very sensitive topic and in addition to reading this article I recommend speaking with your pastor.
"Speaking with your pastor" ("man")? What about what GOD says? But who cares?
Yes, divorce is allowed in the Christian faith under various circumstances. In most instances it is the (men) who get to initiate divorce in the bible!
That should be no surprise since men like King Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines where as no woman had multiple husbands....etc Sexist? hmmmm
Note: Mark 10:12
"And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, {she committeth adultery}.
At any rate one can usually "cherry pick" the bible to find a verse that suits them. And if you can't it's good to know God can forgive "sins"!
Ecclesiastes 7:20
"For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not."
Matthew 5:31-32
"It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, {causeth her to commit adultery}: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery."
Deuteronomy 24:1-4
"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house."
And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife.
And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house.
In Marriage; there is an "order:" Christ;1st, Husband; 2nd, then the wife!
Which one of those Scriptures do u thk take precedent? Deut was under Old Coventant; Matt under law (Matt, Mk, Lk Jn=under law); under GRACE(New Covenant)=I Cor! Did u know?
GOD HATES DIVORCE (Malachi 2:16)!
However, let us see if one is "Married" to qualify for a "Divorce" according to the WORD of GOD! The Scriptures mentions "foreign wives" throughout WORD! What is a "foreign wife" according to GOD? As we know, the Israelites were "God's Chosen People" and anything "OUTSIDE" was considered "foreign" (Ezra 10:10; I Kings 11:1-13; Deuteronomy 7:3-4)!
Would you believe "JESUS (aka GOD) is the same yesterday, today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8)?
If you BELIEVE HE IS, then it stands as WRITTEN!
If "foreign" then, we are "foreign" now, if "married" (according to the law of the land) and are not "in Christ Jesus" or as then, not an Israelite (which makes us "foreign")!
RIDICULOUS you say? Marriage (in the sight of GOD) is a Spiritual Institution (as GOD intended) and Scripture says that we "...were DEAD (Spiritually) in our transgressions and sins..." in Ephesians 2:1! Therefore, how could one make a vow to the LORD or do anything unto the LORD?
Scripture further confirms this when speaking of a second marriage after spouse has "physically died" in I Corinthians 7:39 which says one can remarry BUT "...ONLY IN THE LORD!" If "ONLY IN THE LORD" for second Marriage, how much more do you think the first marriage should be "ONLY IN THE LORD?" If not "IN THE LORD," you have acquired a "foreign" spouse!
Why do you think the divorce rate is so high? Why do you think there is "abuse" in "marriages?" If "IN THE LORD," do you think problems that lead to divorce would be as numerous?
GOD HATES DIVORCE (Malachi 2:16), but allows for "divorce" as HE did in the days of old (I Corinthians 7:15-16) but makes it easier when "IN THE LORD" (Matthew 11:28-30)! Now, if you wish to stay with your "unbeliever," (I Corinthians 7:14) you may for "..the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy." I Corinthians 7:27-28 says "Art though bound unto a wife? Seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? Seek not a wife. But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned..." I Corinthians 7:9 says "...It is better to marry than to burn." I Corinthians 7:24 says "Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with GOD!"
WOW! I KNOW you all are going to dislike me again for TRUTH but IT IS WRITTEN! What can we do about it?
Therefore, make sure you are "IN THE LORD" according to THE GOSPEL of CHRIST (Galatians 1:6-9 "ACCURSED"), else your "marriage" is "foreign" in the sight of GOD and your children are "unclean!"
Choose (Joshua 24:15)!

Does a Christian woman have a biblical right to divorce her emotionally abusive husband? Is emotional abuse a valid reason for a person to get a divorce? Or should the spouse believe for a supernatural transformation?

As a Christian married man is it a sin to lust in my heart for my wife?On occasion I um pleasure myself thinking about her. I was wondering though. Am I committing a sin for lusting after her? It doesn't feel like it's wrong but I was wondering what my brothers and sisters in Christ might say.

What does the New Testament say about divorce and remarriage? Is there any ambiguity in what Jesus and Paul said that might point to different interpretations? (Can Scripture have multiple interpretations, and, if so, who's right?)And further, why do divorce and remarriage get a relative pass from...

Do you believe in divorce and re-marriage?The bible tells us that, What God has joined together let no man put asunder. Whosoever putteth away his wife and marry another commit adultery, and if anybody marry her also commit adultery. What say you?
