Are we meant to meet people by accident or is it meant to happen?

I like to think that we are in control of our own lives. The fact that other people meet us along the way is completely coincidental. The only reason we make connections with them because we are open to those connections at that moment in our life.

Many times we are not thinking about other people, or our feelings are so negative that we do want to make connections and we miss connections because of it. If we can make sure we are constantly open-minded and happy we will see those connections as they pass.  Then we can act upon them because we see them making our life more our own.

So, true...opportunities knock. You just have to hear them knocking.

Both. There are some people that develop into a relationship that is "meant to be." Others never really pan out. Other people may be "accidents" or are just the natural consequences of two people being in the same place at the same time. Our conscience persuades us how to discern between the two.

Sometimes people walk into your lives and they change you. But sometimes you are the one walking into their life and changing theirs.

Always be kind to people. You never know who you are meant to meet and what you are meant to say to them.

This has to depend on whether you believe in fate or whether everything is just a load of random events. Wherever you go you will meet someone special or be special to someone else. I like to believe it's fate as it has happened to me, but I suppose a professor of human behaviour would claim the chance of meeting someone that could change your life is very likely.

By changing your life I don't necessarily mean a partner. It could be another woman/man who influences you to be the best you can be without knowing they are doing it. I met a man who was 20 years older than me, who played a great part in my life after my father died, purely by accident. Simon Baker as The Mentalist reminds me of him so much. So, to answer your question, I believe it's a bit of both.

      Billy,
From you experience, I would have to agree. I hope that when I meet someone, I influence their lives a well. Perhaps, it is fate or an intuition of some sort that we all have and need to believe in.
