Great "opinions" but is Religion's problem today - Accepting man's interpretation of Scripture rather than "connecting" to GOD for "leadership & guidance!"
      Man vs GOD(As usual)!
If "the blind leads the blind, they both fall in the ditch"(Matt15:

GOD! HE is the Author of the ONLY BOOK that matters!

GOD SAID in II Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by the inspiration of GOD and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

GOD SAID in John 1:1 "In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with GOD, and the WORD "WAS" GOD!"

GOD SAID in Matthew 6:33 "Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of GOD and HIS righteousness; and ALL these THINGS shall be added unto you."

GOD SAID in John 14:26 "But the Comforter, who is the Holy Ghost (aka "Kingdom of GOD,") whom the Father will send IN MY NAME, he shall TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

GOD SAID In Acts 1:4 "WAIT" for the "Promise" mentioned in John 14:26 which reads "And being assembled together with them, COMMANDED THEM that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but "WAIT" for the "PROMISE" of the Father (John 14:26; 16:13), which, saith he, YE HAVE HEARD OF ME."

GOD SAID in Acts 2:2 the "PROMISE" came which gives us "POWER" as stated in Acts 1:8!  Acts 2:2-3:  "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of "FIRE," and sat upon each of them."

GOD SAID when he spoke through John in Luke 3:16 "I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with "FIRE."

Now don't tell me "That happened BACK THEN" or you defy Scripture!

GOD SAID in Hebrews 13:8 "JESUS CHRIST [is] the same yesterday, today and forever!"  Therefore, HE operates the SAME TODAY as HE did "BACK THEN!"

We "proclaim" we "LOVE THE LORD" and are Christians; but who has "kept HIS commandments" (John 14:15)?

    Blessings

I don't have a favorite right now, but highly recommend "Broken" by Rev. Johnathan Fisk and the works of Martin Luther, specifically his Small Catechism.
