What is the true message of Christianity?
These days, in America, there is a lot of talk about teaching evolution in schools, debates about condom use, stem cell research, the historical nature of the Bible, the authority of the Bible, and so on...
If Jesus was alive today, is this what he would be doing? Would he be on TV preaching about doctrine and salvation?
Or would he be in Calcutta, or Rio, in the slums of Africa? Would he be in an AIDS clinic ministering to the suffering in a non-industrialized region, or campaigning against child prostitution in southeast Asia and India?
A great question that draws as back to the heart of Christ as opposed to the interpetations of the teachings of Christ. Christ would be and is serving the least of us. We who call ourselves christians need to adopt and display the heart of Christ.
Jesus Christ came into this world because all of mankind needed a Savior. He was born to die on the cross...a perfect sinless sacrifice to pay the penalty for the sins of each and every person...for you and for me. While He walked the earth, He compassionately healed many of the sick, blind and deformed. He fed thousands and raised the dead. All of these miracles attested to His Deity and confirmed who He was...the Son of God. Every evil deed that takes place in this world, every child that is abused or goes hungry, all the hurt and injustices that humans bestow upon one another is all seen and recorded and will be accounted for one day.
As Presigo said, a great question and yes Christ would be with the least of us, the lowest of the low as it were. He would be with the poor, the lame, the weak, the sinners - the people who most needed his help and/or his saving grace, his love. As he said he would not be a conquering king (AKA Political or religious leader), he would be a humble servant.

Are Christians held to a higher standard of behavior than non-Christians?The most ludicrous thing I've heard yet is someone saying they wish there was a test to see whether one is a true Christian. What the hell do you need that for? So you can judge a Christian and jump all over them...

Why do some Christians use the salutation, "Namaste"?As I write on Biblical topics, there are times those leaving insightful comments greet or conclude with, "Namaste"! While I'm sure it is meant as a positive salutation, in researching the word, it appears it is rooted in...
