Why do people that are supposed to be a Christian tell people God hates them when that is a lie?

It's the love of God that draws all men not hate! People run from hate! The woman who commited adultery, Jesus didn't say I hate you, He said he that is without sin cast the 1st stone-then said to the woman you are forgiven- go& sin no more. Love comes 1st & then the desire to change next! Christians who preach hate REPENT! Be like Jesus! Love!

Hmmmmm....Fire and Brimstone is more paramount in the minds of non-believers because heretofore hate, judgement and condemnation was put forward far more than love.

The Christian church is in many ways reaping the harvest of the seeds of fear, guilt, shame and hate it has sown in the name of Jesus.

It has only been very recent in the church's history that love is being preached and put on the forefront of it's teaching.

It's good that you are saying something about it; the frustration you feel was established long ago by people who came before you.

1 John 4:7-8 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

1 John 2:9 Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness.10-Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble. 11-But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him.

1 John 4:19-21 We love because he first loved us.  If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.  And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.

    John 13:35
Everyone will know that you are my disciples because of your love for each other.
This verse isn't just talking about believers loving believers, but about loving everyone. We've got to make it a point in our live and follow Jesus' commandments on loving everyone. We have to love them into heaven. So focus on loving that friend who doesn't know Jesus. He or She needs that love, because it's absent in their lives. All over the world people are longing for love, and you have the opportunity to show them what it looks like. Seize that opportunity!I John 4:1 NIV- says:
“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”  Believers should test the spirits behind a person’s action to see if the action brings glory to God.

People often do not come to God and receive salvation because they are afraid their sins will be exposed and they are afraid they will be judged (see John 3:19-21).  They do not understand that God is full of grace and mercy and that it pleases Him when men confess their wrongs.  Christians should also be full of grace and mercy, but this is not always the case. It is a shameful and sad situation when church people treat others like they are trash because of something they did or because of an unjustified judgment. God knows about these situations and He will hold the slanderers, unmerciful, and graceless accountable.

A Christian who preaches hate is not a Christian.
Jesus alled the Pharisees a "brood of vipers", he was very upset with them and rightfully so.
He did however ask the Father for forgiveness for them "for they know not what they have done"

It may be we know not what we do, we must live our lives in reflection of what we have done and in comparison of what we should do.
Read from the Sword of the Spirit, it is the instruction manual for Christians.

It comes down to an identity problem. Since they feel they are god or at least act like they are, it isn;t a lie in their minds. They hate 'em, they are god, and that indicates that their god hates 'em to.

God does not hate people.  He dislikes our sins and wrong doings, but would never say that he hated us.  The persons that are saying these things are very misguided.  I would not allow this to hurt you in any way.  Just keep your eyes on God because he created you and loves you more than any other person could ever love you and will protect you and keep you close and safe in your life.

Christians who preach hate are not Christians. God says you are to love your neighbor as well as your enemies, as tough as that may be.

Love your enemies, of course, means being merciful when they repent. Not condemning them. Chastise them and punish them for their actions, yes, but you are not allowed to condemn them. Only God has that authority.

Since we only have the human written/transcribed Bible to go on, people can read what ever they want into it.  If they want to hate gay people they'll find justification.  If they want to hate other races they can dig up something to justify that also.

A Christian is someone who is Christ like. Jesus accepted the sinner, but hated the sin. That's why He said, " Go and sin, no more". Since we are humans, we fail and God sees how weak we are, but He bless us for the effort we are putting to live right. He has said that "My grace is sufficient for you". God is LOVE! He sent His only Son Jesus to die for the world. Past, present and future sinners are forgiven by Him. Who am I to judge? God loves me as the way He love other christians. When we see our brothers and sisters are going in the wrong direction instead of condemning them, pray that God will open their eyes to the love of Christ and continue to show His love to the people who are not ready to go to Heaven.
