   This is a highly contentious philosophic issue (the bigger question being, what makes something alive?). But, since I'm not running for any kind of political position, I suppose I can weigh in here. Life begins when an organism draws energy from the environment for self-preservation. In other words, life starts when an organism starts protecting its life. I think that's a central component to life-forms: they eat, grow, and reproduce to maintain, expand, and further life---whatever life really is.

   No one really knows for sure when life in general begain.
   
   If this question is in regards to procreation, and the development of an egg to a baby, I would argue that life begin at conception: From a biological prospective, a sperm and an egg individually have 50% of the required DNA to develop into a fully functional human being; Separately, they can never do that, for they each will stand alone with their 50% of DNA; however, at conception, the individual 50% combine to make the 100% DNA needed for propagation, cell proliferation, etc.
   
   This zygote is its own biochemical system, with its own chemical reactions taking place based on the DNA that it inherited. Granted, it rely on its mother's nutrients for food, but even after birth, a child still rely on its mother's natural nutrients (breast milk), or their mother to provide some alternative food source. -There are times when the mother's body may naturally abort the zygote which may happen for a number of reasons, but more often than none, the development is not going well.
   
   This is not an opinion, but it is a Biological fact! Life begins at conception!

   In my opinion life begins at conception. Others may believe and have a different opinion and definitely have the right to their opinion..
   That is what I love about America and our freedoms!

   Life truly begins at birth ( in literal terms), but LIFE begins when you find your true purpose for living, is it just to play sports until your heart gives out, or to be an artist? Regardless of the purpose- LIFE begins once you find the meaning of why you want to live. Everyone has a purpose in LIFE, so whats yours?

   Life begins at conception. It is indeed a living thing and to abort is murder.  If life didn't start at conception, why is it a double murder when a pregnant women is murdered?

   Life or energy as I like to call it is all ready there. It's a force that's being concentrated when two people or whatever animals make the decision to reproduce.
