For Christians: Do any of you believe that God or Jesus "talks" specifically to anyone, be it...

through dreams or visions? And do you believe that these "talks" could be interpreted as a prophecy of sorts? Doesn't the bible say something about prophets and visions, could someone knowledgeable give me some information on this?

I sincerely believe that He does. Of course!
Personally; I have prayed for answeres to questions, to speak to my departed family members and have been given these things through dreams. However, I believe He talks to all of us individually, we just have to listen.

At the current era no, but possibly. I would like to believe so, but I just don't think they do right now.  I believe they did long ago though.

During the times I seek God the most, I have visions and dreams.
    Joel 2:28
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Anyone who says it is not for today, is delusional

Yes, through the Holy Spirit it's done all the time.  That's the function of the Holy Ghost - to be that messenger that testifier of truth to the heart of man.

Now if you are talking about personal voice communication that takes place as well.  However, that revelation is only for that person as an individual and not for others.

For the world it does take place.  God has always spoken literally to the holy prophets concerning his will for man.  This has been so in days of old.  It is the same in current times.

God has directed my life at least once by a clear vision. In fact, a vision is how He led me to pursue my wife. Joel 2:28 makes clear that He will communicate in this manner.
He also guides us by opening and closing doors for us. Many times in my life I have looked in a direction, and God has clearly said "no" by making the opportunity disappear.

If we are truly wanting God's guidance in life, He will find a way to speak to us that we will understand.

    yes of course
    the BIBLE told about that....
    Matthew 1:20
    genesis 31:11
    genesis 37:5
but you have to find out about it carefully in order not to get lost, because there are some people who claim that they speak with  Jesus, but in fact they are not. read the Bible every day, pray in worship and praise to be nearer to Him, and go to church based on the Bible. you will be easy to recognize the "prophecy" , if it was from Jesus or not.

God  do talk to the person who praying only and it not to be shared. the bible is a living book and ALL life answer are in there on how to live life. but people wanted to do it there way. prophets stop once Jesus was murder by man and died for the sin of the world for man and shortly afterword the bible was completed and the living word of God tell the world until Jesus return and the judgement on the world. Jesus the ark that we must come for shelter of judgement. if not there, you will face judgement and as in said in revelation. who can stand

Visions of god or Jesus (among other things) have been induced with a thing called the 'God Helmet'. It stimulates certain parts of the brain with magnetic fields, and has artificially produced images and sensations of someone else being in the room with the person with the helmet, even though they're alone in a sensory deprived state in a room. For more information on this go to google videos and search for "god and the brain todd murphy". Whether you believe that jesus talks to people personally or that it's just an illusion, it is very significant that this visions can be induced artificially.
