I think it is really unhealthy to think it is better to be feared. It is always better to have people truly appreciate and value you for who you are.
It is better to be feared. Especially if you're an alien or a dinosaur. That way you get a little bit of excercise chasing down your food or zapping the silly humans with your ray guns.

Fear will only limit, its never productive and it never prospers. Love never fails, its never in vain, it always hopes, it will always succeed. I would much rather be loved.
It depends on your goal and the circumstance. While most might quickly pick that it is better to be loved, who wouldn't want to be loved, there are some instances where being feared could be the better option. Being feared might just save your life or at least scare off a mountain lion.

Man is the most feared animal on earth. What do you fear most?Perhaps – taxman, landlord, retrenchment, ghosts, dogs, registered mail, illness, death, poverty, failure, God, electricity, lightening, witchcraft, your ex-spouse, debt collectors, Satan, or whatever.

Is death really to be feared?I have for many years feared death and often when faced with watching others that have faced terminal illness watched them engulfed with fear as well. Death is natural way of Mother Nature so what is it as humans that we fear so much when it comes to death?
